Furniture update --

Some time back I showed you a couple of dressers that I bought used in order to make them over and sell them.

I've shown you  the painted birds already--my daughter bought that chest of drawers from me for my grand-daughter. I enjoyed painting it up pretty for her room.

You may remember the other dresser was very 'mod' looking-- but quite old.  It was mahogany  with a blonde veneer on it... very good bones just needed a fresh make up job!
The wood was dried out and worn out...
The  knobs were missing a few and were dated and tired...

I replaced the shell shaped knobs with plain wooden knobs-- painted silver
I kept the draped leaf shaped knobs--- and painted those silver.

Painted the enitre piece Flat black and then went over it with my trusty can of  OOPS paint, " Fired Steel"  from Walmart...ssshhh!   I bought this little quart and I love the matte finish it gives to my furniture and frames.

I KNOW! THE  pictures are a little bit  REALLY  CRUMMY...   but please bear with me!!!
They are really honest pictures too.   The first picture at my house was taken in the furniture grave yard...my middle bedroom.

the second in my dear daughters storage / spare bedroom...they are remodeling  other parts of her house at the time it was taken.  Maybe I'll get  good picture one of these days... But don't hold your breath!

Ok... So, I've been getting on her just enough to update about the GRANDS. But there are other things going on in my life besides grandkids...honest!

I just haven't been recording it all here.  I hope to catch up with everyone.  I miss blogging.  But such is life, huh?

God Bless you

Oma Gushing and updates and such....

Here is our little man... It has been a long time since I've gotten to put an update on here.  I apologize  for the delay--- I know a lot of you are out there praying for our family and checking for updates.  Thank you all so much.

Easton came home on the 30th of July and has been doing pretty well.
He had a 3 -1/2 day stay at in the hospital last week his blood count was high-- it turned out to be a urinary tract infection.  Other wise he is doing pretty well. He did have some weight loss during that period of time-- we hope that it does NOT delay his last and final surgery.

He's had two surgeries so far.  The first was a LOOP - Ostomy
The second-- was Bishop-Koop

We see the surgeon today (August 19)  and hope to set a date for the final surgery to close him up and give him a belly button.

My daughter and son in-law are doing well with both boys at home despite weekly trips to the DR. for some reason or another. Big Brother is especially happy these days -- not being apart from Mom and Dad so much-- and finally understanding what the fuss was about... (not really) but now he really does KNOW that he has a brother (as much as a 2 1/2  year old can understand)

I hope to let you all know really soon about his final surgery and that he is recovering well.
Again thanks for the prayers.

On to other news!!!!
Our littlest girl Emily is finally here.

This is her going home from the hospital picture -- 2 days old.
Isn't she a cutie?  So serious and alert!

I had told you before that the Dr. had put Momma on bed rest
to prolong the pregnancy as much as possible.
She made it to 38 weeks!  Yay!
Emily weighed a whopping  7 lbs. and 4 oz.
and was 20 inches long... and she has a head full of dark hair.
(Hard to tell with that chocolate colored head rest.)

And she was born on the 10th--- exactly 2 months after her cousin Easton.

Just want to remind you to read the Word of God--

Blessed are they that keep thy testimonies; and that seek Him with the whole heart.
