I can’t believe it’s December already!
This Thanksgiving week went by pretty quickly.
We had a wonderful time at my daughter’s house. It was her first year to host Thanksgiving (or any gathering); I was actually very happy about that.
We've had Thanksgiving at our house every year for the past 17 years…well, except in 2001—the whole family made a caravan to my brother’s house in Georgia.
That was the last time we had it someplace besides here.
I can definitely see the pros and cons of hosting in our home vs. having to travel. I’m not sure exactly how I stand on preference. I didn't have to drive to Georgia…but I did have to drive to my daughters about 20 mins. That was pretty easy. Packing up and making sure I had EVERYTHING—not wild about that. But on the other hand. I didn't have to ‘white glove’ my whole house, because company was coming either.
All said and done… I think it was wonderful. My daughter is a wonderful hostess and her hubby—a great Host.
Didn't do any Grey Thursday or Black Friday shopping.
I did go shopping on Saturday, to the grocery store and to the local thrift stores.
I bought these apples at the grocer.
I bought the stoneware dish at the thrift.
I bought it because it was big. Stoneware. White on the outside.
I love how it looks on the table with the fruit inside.
I also like the pattern on the outside. I don’t know if it’s old or not.
I've a feeling it isn't very old; but only looks it.
There is no mark on the bottom. Have you seen a bowl like this?
Maybe you have one and know where you bought it, the maker, etc?
I don’t guess it really matters, because I’m keeping it and not re-selling it.
I just like to know, you know, if it came from China and has lead in it or something—You never know!
I bought some other things at the thrift. I’ll show those in a few days. Most of them I bought for the shop--
I am needing to get them stocked; but I’m having an issue with my camera.
A lot of my pictures are turning out really grainy. When I look through the view finder window –not the LCD monitor. I can see a very slight layer of dust particles in there.
I think it got this dust inside when I was re-upholstering my settee/couch; back in October. (It got pretty dusty in the work room)
Have you ever had this problem with your digital camera—and did you pay to have it cleaned? I think I’m going to have to find a camera shop that would be able to do this.
This is not something I want to try and D.I.Y. (myself)
Ok, that is pretty much it for the Thanksgiving wrap up—I’ll be visiting around to most of your blogs catching up with you and seeing how your wrapping up your Christmas…or winding down your year.
Til next time, Be Blessed!

Glad you had a good time at your daughter's house this year. It was the opposite for us, we had everyone here but I didn't white glove it- they are all family so we got it up to family standards! LOL. We didn't do the sales either, other than to get chicken feed, if that counts!
Sounds like you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Glad that you had a lovely Thanksgiving! Love the bowl too, don't blame you, I would keep that too!
So good to hear you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I did, too! I am with you, I'm not sure whether I like hosting or traveling better. Each has it's pros and cons. Normally, I host Christmas Eve, but another family member has requested to host this year, and I am a-okay with that, other than having to travel about an hour to get there. We will have to get on the tollway in Dallas. *Gasp* I think I shall request the hubby drive so I can read a book! :)
