:: My Weekend— and Jury Summons puts a kink in the Week!

This weekend I’ve been somewhat busy. Though I slept in and played on my phone a bunch! —I feel like I got a lot done.

I only packed one box. :/

I did laundry on Saturday, wash, hung to dry and folded/ put up- YAY!  I also- tidied up the kitchen, ran the vacuum through the entire house, washed, dried and put away dishes (I usually let them air dry, it’s true.)

Then I made a big batch of Hot Chocolate—I  found the link at Pioneer Woman at Heart--- I had to try some.  It’s delicious! (it’s going in the mugs I bought last year for the kiddos) I’m hoping to do a craft with those mugs this week.

On Sunday-I broke out the sewing machine and started making mittens for the grandkids.  I’ve gotten all the boy’s a pair made so far… mittens

I didn’t get a picture of the end product…  this is cut out and liners in the progress of being sewn.  I’ll get a picture tomorrow, hopefully.  (actually, I’ll be sewing stars of most of them, they are SONS of Dallas Cowboy fans- households)

Not re-inventing the wheel. But I found this tutorial for the mittens.  Easy Peasy.  My favorite part?  That it repurposes old sweaters.  If you have wool …it’s even better!

I don’t know what all I’ll get done tomorrow.  I have Jury Duty… and the County court house.  I really hope I don’t get picked this time.

Jury duty can be a curse and blessing.  Sometimes it’s just so inconvenient.  But… I often think, if I were in the hot seat- I’d want people to be responsible and show up so I can have a fair trial.  Anyway… still hope I don’t get picked this time!

The Honey’s birthday is on Wednesday—so I’ve got pie to make some time!

Have a great week!

‘Til next time, Be Blessed!

I have been called for jury duty and fortunately my employer pays me while I am gone otherwise I have to say I would try to get out of it. We don't have that comfort zone to go without pay for a couple of day or a week. Also, my courthouse is a small town, I'd hate to go to St Louis county or city for jury duty.

It sounds like you got a lot done, Pat. Those mittens are adorable and I really should make some so I have extras here for the kids. Hope you don't get picked for jury duty!!! xo Diana

Oh! I am excited to see the mittens. I agree about jury duty. I'd want someone like you in the box.

Those handmade gifts from oma are the BEST!

Our jury duty pays $12 a day..... and it costs $7 to park. I've only been summoned once (for 2 weeks) and only sat in on a couple of cases. I enjoyed seeing firsthand how our judicial system works, but the timing is really bad. I hope you don't get picked!!

How exciting for your kiddos....Mittens made from the Heart!!!! Jury duty is one of those dreaded things....
Reason being....we are all busy, and jury duty always seems to come at the worst time! However..I suppose it is our civic duty...

It sounds like you are doing well and I hope you didn't get picked for jury duty. I am like you. I find it a pain, but we need to make sure people get a fair trial. I have served on 3 different juries and I have to say that it felt fantastic when we found a young man not guilty. It proved to us that the system works!
