:: This is News to Me—Blogging Changes

I opened up blogger today to find this little announcement.  I was surprised…but happily.  I’m not sure what prompted the changes—and while some may shout CENSORSHIP … I’m ok with this decision.  There is a link below if you’d like to read the policy changes for yourself.

Other blog updates:

I added a mobile blogging app last year—in an effort to monetize the blog.  It’s working out for me.  There had been problems at the onset. People weren’t able to comment.  I believe all that’s been repaired.  You can now view comments and leave one, I’m happy to report!

Also—if you’d like you can view my blog VIA Desk Top Mode using your mobile device.

When you get to the blog, you click the 3 bars…seen here circled in red.

This window slides open… and you can click Show Desktop Site: circled in red

That will take you to the site the way it looks on a desktop computer--

While you’re there…since I’ve already mentioned Monetizing the blog … don’t forget you can get to Amazon.com by typing in whatever you might be searching for or shopping for in the box shown below.  It’s on the side bar of my blog.

Remember—whatever you purchase through Amazon.com via this blog Corn in my Coffee-pot—helps support Us and it doesn’t cost you ANY EXTRA MONEY WHAT-SO-EVER!

That’s it.  It’s not a fun post…but hey! Some things just need to be said.

We’re getting some cold temps and anticipating snow in the morning. We had ice yesterday and today, with power outage through the night last night.  Nothing serious…we’re doing pretty well. Our ‘winter storm event’…is nothing compared to what most of you are experiencing.  I can’t/ won’t  complain.  Yesterdays snow melted off; except for what was lying under the trees, eves and shady areas,  by this afternoon—making the ground soggy.  I’m ok with any precipitation we get.  We suffer drought here in a bad way!

Here is a pretty picture for you to think on as you head out--- (from my instagram)

It doesn't bother me that they regulate this either, in fact I'd rather not have adult content come up as a surprise. I read their policy and the only ify thing I can see is if you are posting the baby in a bath tub or on a bear skin rug photos that we all have. Hopefully nobody will get all weird and target these. Also, graphic content. I wonder how that applies to photos of farm animals giving birth? At any rate, I don't think I'm in violation and it's Blogger's site anyway so they can do what they want.

Patricia, thanks for being the first to break the news about adult content. If I'd seen the notice before you wrote, I would have been worried that someone hacked my blog! I know I wouldn't want to be the one who has to search Blogger for adult content! Can you imagine what the posting might be for that job?

And thank you for the head's up on the link to Amazon. I will try to remember that, and shop from Corn.

You are amazing. You can make a story out of anything!!! I hereby dub you my "Blogging Hero!"

That does not bother me a bit. I just hope that my pictures of naked babies in bathtubs is not considered sexual content. If it is I am done for, I guess

Glad you are able to monetize your blog and hope it helps
Have a great day! xo Diana..

Thanks for sharing this AND your other blogging tips n lessons learned! I need to revive my blog. (Although I just shared a beloved video that does have some "language" from Miranda Lambert!) I'm making plans to finally hold a barn / vintage tag sale this spring and am hoping to meet some local bloggers.. wish you were closer! <3

jonquils already? We still have so much snow from 10 days ago, I couldn't see the jonquils even if they are there. :(

Good reminder about the Amazon link. If we're going to buy something from Amazon, a friend might as well get the credit, eh?
