...AND OTHER SUCH NONSENSE...
This morning was much the same as most mornings.
Only this morning it was thundering. It thundered last night; but no rain.
Bree and I had already gone to the storm cellar...not because of storms. No. I went to open up a RUBBERMAID TOTE and retrieve a bedspread. She went to chase lizards.
It's a really pretty VINTAGE JACQUARD type bedspread in all it's ORANGE AND YELLOW GLORY!
It thundered a long time.
Yes. that is my bedspread in the rain.
I went ahead and decided to wash it. I figured what ever thunder I was hearing was too far away, and out of range; we probably weren't going to see any rain. Boy! was I wrong.
The wind picked up. The temps dropped a considerable bit, as well.
Did I say, 'the wind picked up?' What I meant was THE WIND PICKED UP MY VINTAGE ORANGE AND YELLOW BEDSPREAD AND THREW IT ON THE GROUND.
Hhhhhmmmmph!
Like I said, This morning was much the same as most mornings. Only this morning it was thundering.
It rained in torrents for about 45 minutes straight. I love a good rain don't you?

- Get up
- get dressed
- get coffee
- go outside AND OPEN the COOP...
- sit in a lawn chair and "take it all in."

But, I HAD mentioned in a comment to someone," that just as sure I get that bedspread on the line; the skies would probably open up." It's LIKE I KNEW...
Well, sure enough!!!
A cool 80°...!!!
I returned to the back thinking I should probably go ahead and bring the bedspread in the house, before the rain got too heavy.
Hhhhhmmmmph!

I do love a good rain. Not a fan of wind...
Figures it would rain when you have something on the line.

So glad I'm not the only one who has days like that! It looks like that rain will be hitting us tomorrow.
Oh how I wish it would rain. 104 here today. Scorcher. Your poor spread. Like when I wash the car it will for sure rain.
Yeah, if you need a good rain, just put some laundry out to dry. It works every time. What a cool bedspread! Looks like you are definitely bringing the color out!

Nice bed spread and hopefully it did not
get too muddy... We have had tropical storms
each day.. some better than others but it's
how we do it here.. 2pm or so the lightening
starts and it's scarey to say the least...
My cats climb under the stairs.
I'm not sure why anyone wants to summer in
SoFla, it's yucky here!
As you, the nice part of our storms the temp
may drop into the 80's...
Stay Cool.

You gave me a laugh, Pat! Nothing like a good thunderstorm to wash the air and cool things down! Fun post!
That is a lovely spread - love those colors! We've FINALLY started getting some rain and some cooler temps. I'm so looking forward to working in my veggie garden tomorrow. I really haven't been able to and it's mighty weedy!
I love the kind of rain we get here in Winnipeg. It comes in a goes away again in only an hours time usually.
Funny how we know something will happen if we do one specific thing.
Hugs, Cindy
Love it - while most people would have run cursing and screaming in the downpour to save their vintage bedspread, you snapped some pics!
Here's to whatever mother nature throws at us!

It looks like praying for rain for our farmers was a fruitful thing to do!
