::Propane Update and A Chat::

** My Stinky Problem Update :

I called today and the calls were forwarded to a call center. Both offices nearest us were in meeting in Ft. Worth.  I was told to call them (my local office) tomorrow morning. So…still in limbo on repayment, reimbursement, or restocking my tank.  I’m hoping for a resolution tomorrow.  Thank you to everyone that left comments…and similar stories.

Our temps are dropping and supposed to be in the low 30’s by 1 A.M.

I was lying in bed last night thinking about all the things I needed to do today; knowing that cold weather was coming.

  • Call the propane company
  • Make sure there is plenty of bedding in the chicken coop.
  • Cover our Fall garden beds…with hoop frames, sheets and plastic.
  • Bathe the dogs and make sure they can stay inside tonight.  Whooo!  I was not looking forward to that one.

Buster likes sleeping on the concrete side porch…and at one time he enjoyed his bath…now that he is LARGE…not so much.  If I had the money, I wonder, would I pay to have him groomed? Probably not. But it is a hard job.  The Honey dried him with the blow dryer. A first! …and a funny one, too.

I thought about ALL OF this last night—while lying in bed, AND it was so quiet. Yes, we live in the country. But we live near a busy 2 lane Farm to Market Hi-way… trucks, cars, traffic in general travel this road it seems ALL NIGHT SOME TIMES.

…But last night. It was eerily quiet. The neighbor on the end has a nice little homestead. NONE of his animal were making a sound. NONE of ours were making a sound. Buster slept peacefully on the side porch. No donkeys on the prairies braying.

I had to wake the Honey to tell him.

He wasn’t impressed. Heheheehee!  What could I say… I couldn’t sleep. I finally had to get up and turn the fan on so that the quiet noise would help me to sleep!

When I can’t sleep—I lie there…just thinking about all the things I need to do tomorrow. It is a never ending list, I tell you.

This is the worst… When I’m in bed and I can’t sleep—I begin to pray. A lot of times—I nod right off.  Not proud of that, but it’s true.

What do you do when you can’t sleep?

Shout joyfully to the LORD all the earth. Serve the LORD with gladness; Come before Him with Joyful singing. “
~ Psalm 100: 1-2

I pray to. The Lord usually brings someone to mnd. it does seem to help clear your mind of othe things. Hope the gas situation works positively for you with a reimbursement. Blessings!

I hate it when I can't sleep. I read, play video games or look at blogs.

Last month we took Lulu to the groomers to have the hair around her eyes trimmed. She looked great for about half a day. Sunday afternoon my kids helped me bathe her - she did not love it. Monday afternoon my son and his girlfriend took her to the beach and threw the ball right into the ocean. She loved it because we always toss the ball along the sand. I would have felt like I threw the money down the drain if that bath had been a groomer's visit. So, we will continue to do the bathing ourselves.

Hope you can sleep tonight.

Not sleeping is a way of life with me. The one thing I try NOT to do is lay awake in bed. I read blogs or watch tv usually.

I hope things work out and you get reimbursed.

If I am having trouble sleeping ( most nights ) and I start thinking about what I need to do, that means that my body is going to work mode and then it is harder to go to sleep.

As for going to sleep while praying, an older couple at church told me once that going to sleep while pryaing was like going to sleep in Jesus' arms and what better way to fall asleep? Loved that and now I am guilt free when that happens. Besides He understands that we are human and require rest, falling asleep while talking to him is communication with him until you can't communicate anymore and fall asleep!

Oh sorry to hear of your propane problem. We total electric but have a wood burning stove in the Man Cave but near the intake, so we use a fan and the intake fan to help circulate the heat when it get cold. 30s here in GA is COLD to us, anything below that I just can't function! I have been using a small fan in my bedroom to drown out sounds and help me sleep for years... my adult pacifier!

I don't know what that is about nodding off during prayer but a pastor once said to me, "is there any better way to fall asleep"? I am grateful I sleep well most of the time, I did however wake up a few times last night too hot, the heater was running and it is hard to get used to forced air again. I wish I lived where windows could be open all the time! Since we woke up to -4 wind chill all ready I am guessing it will be a while for those open windows now. Hope you stay warm lol but if you really want to see what cold is all about...head up here to ND!! ;)

You sound like me. We run the ceiling fan every night, even in winter just for the noise. I have chronic insomnia and there have been times that I was literally up for days. It is sheer torture! I'm the first one to rise and the last one to bed. I make lists of the next day's chores, etc and yes, I pray. I confess to falling asleep before the prayer is finished, but I think it's because God makes me fall asleep. :o)
I hope today will bring you some answers to the propane situation.
Blessings!

It was mostly quiet around here last night, till one of the kittos decided to play with a silly plastic ball in the hallway on the hardwood floor. It bothered me, but it didn't even wake my sleeping pup who also had a bath so he was snuggled up next to his mops (me) warm and toasty.
What do I do when I can't sleep? I watch t.v.--something really boring, with the timer set so that when I fall asleep it automatically goes off.
When I worked, I had those kinds of nights where I couldn't turn off my brain, but those days are better now. If I think of something that I think I might forget, I pick up my phone and send myself and email, then I can "check" it off my brain.
I sure hope the propane thing gets fixed!

I do the same: pray, often falling asleep mid-prayer.
I do not believe that is bad, considering I pray for God to grant me images of what He wants me to think about. I also pray that these very things will help me nod of to the blessed bliss of unconsciousness.
I also find that I tend to worry about not hearing things that would be deemed an emergency, trusting God to wake me if I must be up for such a thing.

And, sometimes I just picture myself cradled in His loving arms, being rocked to sleep like a baby.
