Still in the Kitchen

It’s late—I never got here to the computer to write today…

I had a pretty relaxing day—woke up late, and worked in the kitchen.  Moving the refrigerator back to it’s spot.  I had originally thought I wouldn’t put it back; I sort of liked it next to the stove…

You know me, indecisive.

My fridge WAS sitting next to the stove, on top of a cardboard box—and my floor is NOT finished under there. It was put there for the floor make over.

This is my NORMAL set up in my kitchen.  It’s what you call “un-fitted”  … I don’t have many cabinets, just one wall and counters on either side of the sink. The rest of my kitchen is a throw-back to another era.  Furniture squeezed into service.  I like it.  This is an old picture before decluttering and packing up some things.

It goes HERE!  This wall is in queue for paint and trim. In fact, the whole kitchen needs fresh paint. I painted the later half of 2014; but it’s flat interior paint and it just won’t pass muster for the kitchen. (this wall did NOT get paint, obviously)

Back to the arrangement:  There's a plug and I think my microwave counter (step-back cupboard) could go there nicely. Then, there is the problem of no counter next to the stove—a place to set things.  Oh!  and the ice maker line; that currently isn’t working. :/

In the end, I decided to put it back; and in the process I scratched the floor, slightly. Aaack!  Just the polyurethane layer.   It only got one coat due to cold weather. I have to be quick about getting the other layers on as soon as the weather warms. The extra layers makes it even more durable.

I’ve pretty much said—over and over this week, either here or maybe I’ve left a comment on your blog.  I’m not setting out to write a bunch of GOALS for 2015.  But I will say I have the one GOAL IN MIND… and that is the move. Getting the house prepped and ready to sell.  Is my main focus.

Right now—getting everything back in order is FIRST!  I feel like I’m going nine to nothing—in all different directions.  Taking a few pictures and seeing everything IN PICTURES… helped me realize the counter space issue AND water line dilemma.

Maybe writing a few things down might help!  ;)

What makes a difference for you?  Do you just jump in and start working?  Do you think and think… and plan and plan?   I know there are as many different ways to do things as there are people that do them.  Sometimes, just doing it without much thought works…and then sometimes, it’s means more work later.  Writing some GOALS would give me something to AIM TOWARDS… see?  Indecisive!

… Have a great Sunday!

‘Til next time, Be Blessed~

You can't possibly be more indecisive than I am LOL. I should have a medal by now. I've been going through a kitchen/dining room/living room remodel for the past 13 YEARS. I'm not trying for perfection either! So, I guess the only help I can be to you is to let you know you are not alone! :)

I'm a jump in person. If I plan, things get changed, so why bother? lol

I've decided to get to the visible stuff first, then tackle the stuff behind closet doors etc.... so I do plan a little.

painting? I haven't painted in years! :(

loving the new floor!

You are one busy girl. I think that the new year does something to us that makes us want to change things up. When I took down the Christmas tree I moved all the furniture and rugs and waxed the living room floor and of course change the furniture. I don't have the room to change it much and of course, never move hubby's chair from across from the wall mounted TV :)
I love, love, love your stove in the kitchen . . . very cool :)

It is a lot of work to get ready for a move. When you are trying to get it done, it doesn't hurt to take pictures of the room along the way. Then look at them the next day. It gives you an "outside" perspective -- you're better able to identify clutter or details that are out of place. If you want to sell your house, you'll need MLS pictures anyway. This is a good way to practice "staging."

And kudos to you for your efforts! If you do look at Multiple Listing pictures, you'll see some god-awful messes!

Not that it's the best thing to do......but I am one of those JUMP right in and get it done kind of people. I might move something and leave it that way for a couple of weeks...if I don't feel comfortable, I move it again. I guess the best way to look at it is...Some weeks I get a good workout! LOL

I love the floor. I'm a bit of both. I like to use the particular kind of energy the day supplies. Some days I have a lot of cleaning energy, other days creative energy. Today was an organizing kind of day. We're adding a few cupboards to our kitchen, so I set up a painting space in a guest room. In doing so, I packed up a "doll" dresser that my great grandmother played with that was passed on an on to the little girls of the family. My mother was the third owner and she is 89. Our granddaughter was the 8th little girl to play with it.
