Tropical Weather and The Pool

*affiliate links to follow
I've been sitting here this morning listening to and watching the weather report. I don't think it's as bad as they're saying it's going to be-- we are waiting on, what's now called Tropical DEPRESSION BILL!
Tropical Storm Bill

We've had rain about 4 hrs. Fortunately where we live our little community sits on the highest elevation in our county. So- NOT a flood plain.  Though we do get saturated and waterlogged, it runs off pretty fast. I can't help but think how good all this rain is for the underground springs and natural aquifers AND MY GARDEN!

We are still a few days out from the official start of summer- it's an odd season this year!
Lots of rain, a late garden;

…and we haven't even officially opened the pool, yet.

We usually have it opened by now. It’s an above ground pool—and after almost 16 years of summers—it is in need of some upgrades.  I generally try to shop early for all our pool supplies and when I do-- I shop In The Swim for everything from opening to closing the pool.

Right now, the Littles are chomping at the bit to get out there and swim. So we’ve had to use a patch on a pin hole in the liner.
This year it looks like we might be needing to replace the liner if so, we’ll get it from In The Swim—we’ve bought one from them years ago and it was a good deal!
We’ve also replaced the sand in the filter…and now we’re just waiting on BILL and the rain!  It never fails—just when we think we have the water just right, the rain comes and creates a set back!  Clouds and cooler temps—make it uncomfortable to swim.
Unless you don’t mind blue lips like the kids!   KIDS just don’t care. All they want to do is swim, swim, swim!  I can’t wait to get out there and put some FUN! into my workout!
‘Til next time, bring on the FUN!
Patricia

* It’s true I may be paid by In The Swim , but the thoughts and opinions, along with any extra …is all mine!

Patricia - the kids seem to be enjoying the pool no matter what the temp!! That's kids for ya! My sister has a big pool above ground like yours and they've had it for so many years and enjoy it still. Well, let's say the grandchildren enjoy it. She says it's a lot of work to keep it maintained and swimmable.

Enjoy the summer with the kids.

Very cool to have a paid sponsorship!!
I really want a pool at our next house. I just hate our summers and think it may help me accept them better if I had a pool.
we are getting tons of wind and rain here in Dallas but nothing too crazy yet.

Man, my kids are really wanting a pool. I used to not like the idea, but it's growing on me for sure!!! Especially as everyone is getting older. How big is yours? Hope your weather improves!

Hope you are still ok, it seems from the weather reports that the rain just won't quit I am guessing that pool is running over and the PH is all off now lol!

Glad you are getting some much needed rain without any damage. Not as bad here as predicted, but I am sure low areas were flooded. Just thankful for all the nice rain that Texas has gotten so far this year. Good that you have a pool for the grands.

I hope they get to enjoy the pool in some hot weather eventually! LOL, I guess we can go swimming too. I'll just put on my suit and step into the yard. Just kidding, we are under a flood watch though, the low water bridge is under with water rushing over it like crazy. The big rivers are also going into flood so we'll have water over the roads in some areas too. Our house is high and dry though.

I sure hope you fared okay with Bill. We got some rain from him over the weekend, but not as much as they said we would.

Pools... we had one back in the day. They sure are a lot of work. :)

it's so hot here, I can't go outside. It's not just the heat but the humidity makes if feel like it's 100+ ugh!

good news is... jamie stopped by today on her way from n'ville to cincy. We went to lunch with her dad to honor him for Father's day.

take care Patricia!
