Sunflower Fields- Doing

Over the Labor Day weekend… we traveled west…to hill country, Honey’s family had their family reunion.  We passed sprawling fields of Sun flowers.  An ocean of yellow!  Beautiful! Honey drove… This photo was taken zooming down Hwy- 67… near Cleburne, TX.

A few days prior to that.  I decided I needed to dust the bedroom shelf.
Kristina from Pioneer Woman at Heart has been posting all her extreme cleaning tips, ideas, and accomplishments.  I took a cue from her and am doing some of the same. Y’all have some of the best ideas!!!  I sometimes just copy what I see!

I posed a question on Instagram… and now I’ll ask you.  Why do we call it dusting?   Shouldn’t it be de-dusting, Like decluttering?  I mentioned I try and spread the dust around evenly…  I can’t help where it settles!

Moving from the bedroom—I straightened up in the mudroom, it’s between our bedroom and the only bathroom in our house and it heads out the back door or into the kitchen.  It’s a well traveled thorough-fare… hi traffic.  It is also a dumping ground for whatever happens to be in your hand as you pass through.

Yes, it’s a bpp (bad-phone-picture) … as Claudia calls it. You understand, right?   This was taken after I picked everything up off the floor in the center area. The before… was awful.  No I didn’t take a picture to show you!!!

Anyway, you might remember I won this…

I want to get the mud room purdy-fied.  It’s time.    It’s been a storage room for long enough.  I’ve only cleaned this space up a bazillion times in 20 years. Then it just becomes toxic again! Old habits!!

*Excuse to follow… Since I’m in school now… I don’t have time to do all the things I’d like to get done.  So, I’m having to bite it off in small chunks.  I keep bumping it down the list!!! Procrastination Creep.  That’s what I call it.  As I procrastinate…things just creep down further and further.

I found these canvases in the closet while cleaning up…  I got these several years ago while shopping at Bargainland… and they were heading to the trash pile.  They let me have them.  I started peeling the paper off the one on the right,  a few years ago;  and tonight I wet it and scraped it all off.  Glue, paper and all!

I see these all the time at thrift stores and yard sales... canvas, and glue!  Put a little hot water on it and comes clean!

Then I glued MORE paper to it!

An old chicken feed sack…  I like how it turned out.  I still have another canvas—I need to get the paper off, so I do something with it. Probably chicken related.
That’s it… I haven’t blogged much about anything but school, thanks for letting me bend your ear about all that!  Your encouragement is appreciated. I’m still DOING things…  This has been a big year for DOING  for me.  I love seeing things get checked off the list… don’t you?
“Til next time, be blessed.

He has told you, O man, what is good?  And what does the LORD require of you?  But to do justly, love mercy and walk humbly with your God. ~ Micah 6:8

Oh my word, my list is so long it's not even funny. I could use a few good power cleaning tips since my house needs it bad.

My to-do list is a mile long.... I'm ticking things off slowly. Today's task (that I'm currently putting of by being on the computer) is taxes. yep, monthly, and I'm way behind. Working on May currently, hoping to get caught up by the end of the day. I hate paperwork! ugh!

Happy you got away to enjoy some family and sunflowers!

dusting? my least favorite thing to do, but with the right tools, it's easier.

have a great (short) week Patricia!

I agree with the term "dusting"! Crazy, eh? I'm sure the sunflower field was just gorgeous!

I too, have a long list of things to get done. And I actually did do a lot of it before we left on our trip. I have one of those areas as well....where everything in the hands gathers!! Dusting seems to be a never ending job at our house..I just don't understand how so much dust makes it's way into the house! Oh well....just one of those jobs that someone has to do and it always seems to be me! Hope your day is filled with joy!!
