DIY- Cross Plaque

Wonder what I've been up to lately?
I've just been trying to finish up a few of my LONG LIST OF PROJECTS. I thought I show you one. I don't have a before picture. But, this cross was given to me by a good friend for my birthday last year. I didn't like how it just faded into the wall color so made it a plaque.

This didn't take very long. I got my inspiration from here...

(Interior Bliss Designs)
I had this piece of bead board and some trim and I made this box / frame. I rubbed some watered down paint onto it ; after beating it with a hammer and some tools, to give it a worn appearance. I don't know why the paint smudged the way it did, I brushed it on with a foam brush and then wiped it off, but this is the finish I got. It turns out that I liked it that way. I glued the cross to the frame with gorilla glue (affiliate link)

Gorilla Glue 5201204 Glue Dries White Bottle, 2 Ounce

and fastened hangers on the back and snapped these pictures.

Now it stands out!
