Coming Soon~ Chickens!

When last we saw our little chicken coop… chicken coop 029  It was standing near the fig tree waiting for completion and what else…chickens! canton- coop progress- netting-around the yard 066

I am happy to say…that after 4 mos. of recuperating for The Husband, after his heart attack… we are back in the ‘Chicken reCOOPerating’ swing of things.

canton- coop progress- netting-around the yard 067 This is our progress as of Thursday morning.  We have the wire bought already; we are needing a few more boards. We shorted ourselves when we purchased materials.  Ok…we didn’t buy enough!

We used fancy recycled hinges for our little door.

AND! a fancy recycled door pull.

Once we get the last of the boards on and all of them painted and the wire on here; we’ll only be needing some chickens.  I hope the weather doesn’t turn too cold before we can establish a relationship and routine with them, once we get them.

I’m waiting with anticipation…{smile}

God bless you and Thanks for reading!

I was busy this summer and did not keep up with your web blog. I was sorry to hear of your husband's stroke. I will keep you and your family in my prayers My husband is with the Va and it will help us next yr. when his retirement insurance will transfer to medicare and we will not have prescription coverage. He can use his VA for all his medical needs. That has and will continue to be a blessing. Blessings

I'd love to have chickens too!! You're so lucky...my neighbors around me are working on getting an ordinance for our area to allow chickens....a friend of mine has a coffee table size chicken coop, she's gonna but legs on it and use it in the house...I think they're cool...Mel

I am strangely excited by this! I think it would so great to have chickens (and their eggs!). Of course I would name them all (the chickens, not the eggs). I look forward to this latest adventure of yours. And it's good to hear your husband ready to tackle this challenge. Ann
