::A Frenzied Craft~Yo-Yo Quilt- Blocks ::

The other day I was digging around in an old family trunk that has been passed down from my Great Grandmother's home ...now I have it.
Besides photos there were other little treasures inside.

These two LONE YO-YO Quilt blocks. I have no idea who made them...
if maybe they were extras from a project quilt, or maybe they were just used as doilies on the furniture.
But I decided to make something with them to display.

I gathered some scrap foam core insulation.
Scrap burlap (from Bargain Land -USA)

I got the hot glue gun, and some scissors. No. I did not iron the burlap smooth. I did not measure.
I did this the quick and easy way... I  *eyeballed it*.... ~~L @@ K~~
Not too bad.
However, the corners were  a little bit on the bulky side, even after  cutting them away.
So I gathered some lace... seen pictured below in the crafting mess... that is frenzied when I get an idea!!!
(YOU CAN SEE HOW THE CORNERS ARE SORT OF BULKY TOO)

Here it is below... hanging on the wall with the  lace in place and the bulky corners hidden by all that crocheted - hand crafted goodness!

You can't see them... but I took TWO TABS from a couple of soda cans to make the hangers on the back....yes! they are hot glued onto the back! Easy peasy...

... And here they are in the bedroom...next to the 'Collage Wall' ...
I'm thinking of putting a shelf under this mirror...and just so happens I have one already. I am also thinking of maybe placing some more plates or something over the top of the mirror just to round out the arrangement.

Not sure... stay tuned... something else may show up!

You just never know with me... (I just never know with me, that IS for sure!)

What a cute way to display your new found treasures! I bet she was going to do a quilt and just didn't get it finished!

Nice display idea! I wondered what you would dream up once I saw the burlap!

What an ideal way to display your
grandma's quilting pieces. Who would
have thought of that...
I'm so glad you hung them because
they are very special.

What a great way to display them. Maybe someone gave them to her or she tried her hand at making them and this is all there is. Love that you saved and cherish them.

Well, how cute they turned out! Here's an idea you might consider: Over the mirror, plates on the wall curving along with the mirror.

Isn't burlap wonderful? There's so many things you can do with it. Of course, I love the quilt block!

Yo yo pieces bring back a sweet memory - the first thing I ever sewed by hand at the knee of my great grandmother. I had to thread the needles for her, and she showed me how. I was so proud of my yo yo! She made pillows of them.
Hey - tell me about your name. I've always wondered about it!
