:: THREE ::

Thanks Gail!

Somewhere in the distant past... I was given 3 shutters.
3 different sized, different styled...shutters.

Display shutters...
that my son in law, who works for a Solar Screen company gave to me
-- these were a floor model display, heading for the dumpster.

I knew sooner or later...MUCH, MUCH LATER... I'd come up with a use for them.
I've racked my brains trying to figure out what to do with them.

Finally about a month ago... I took the ACTUAL SHUTTERS off the frames and painted them.
Still not knowing what I'd do with them.
That project came and went ...
STILL NOTHING.

So....now... I have 3 frames (that used to have shutters attached to them)
and 3 shutters... painted what color? ....GUESS!

GREEN!
so that? That is a picture of  a green shutter popped back into the original frame...
so that YOU can appreciate what I'm about to show you.
(you can see some brackets in there and yes...NOW they are all attached to each other.

That ... is the loveliness of PALLET WOOD(also donated by son in law)
...made into a table top...today! By me :)

See? isn't it lovely?
Painted All WHITE with a touch of rustic pallet wood and wire metal goodness.
Perfect.

So RECAP:
  • 3 frames mounted together ...with
  • 3 tiers of drawer glides added to the inside...
  • AND 3 AWESOME (YES THREE!) WIRE BASKET ORGANIZER/ DRAWERS!

It's going in my utility room. To hold soap, scrub brushes, iron, vacuum bags, etc.

I KNOW...  I still have 3 UN-USED shutters to deal with.
No. I have no idea for what. But the frames are put to good use...
wouldn't you say?

I'm link here:
Oh give thanks to the LORD for He is good; His loving kindness is everlasting.

I love it! So clever and very useful. I could use more of those in my craft room to hold yarn and such.

My Oh My! This may be my favorite project EVER! I want one! Maybe you could just hinge the shutters together, paint them different colors to match your decor, and hang them on a wall as art? Or put them on a mantel or a piece of furniture behind something as a cool background?
Nice job, Pat!

This is an awesome project! Love it!

I saw a shutter that was part of a shelf which I thought was pretty cool or you could nail them all together to make one big art piece.

Fabulous! Love how you put this all together using so many salvaged parts. The wire baskets are perfect. I keep things around forever knowing that one day inspiration will hit. Great job.

What a great cart, I love the wire baskets. Don't worry about the shutters, it'll come to you when you least expect it to.

Your storage cart is brilliant! I adore using scrapes and old materials to create new and useful items. This project is an A+
There will be a time very soon when a little light will turn on in your head (if you are anything like me, it will be in the middle of the night) and an idea will be there for your shutters.
I am so delighted that I have found your blog. I am your newest follower and I do hope that you will share the love and follow me back. I am looking very forward to becoming great blogging friends and sharing ideas.
Your blogging sister, Connie :)

Nice one! I think it is very much worthy of appreciation. Since it couldn’t be used as an actual window shutter, why not hang it on a wall? Find a spot which you think looks lacking in appeal. Then from there, you can add more designs. Who knows what other ideas you can come up with? ;]

I was just thinking that you could make Jewelry holder / organizers from those old shutters. Drill holes in them for earring pairs (Fish hook types), or hang necklaces on them. Mount on wall like the magazine rack. Just what popped into my head when I saw them! ;)

Hmmm... good idea.
Was hoping to use them myself...and I'm not a jewelry person. But, then Christmas is right around the corner, so...they'd make cute gifts for some young Moms I know that do wear earrings and stuff.
So- Thanks!
