:: A Hopeful Love::

Taking some pictures around the yard...

The daffodils begin to push out of the earth late January, by the first week you begin to see flower heads...

On Valentine's Day they are in full bloom all over the yard.

We lived here about 13 years... and I've never paid much attention to when the daffodils bloom.
I always thought Spring for some reason.

Until four years ago...

Today, would be our grand-daughter's 4th birthday...  for Some in our family, it is a day of sadness...Many would say that today is a Day of Love... for me?

It is another day

...but One Filled with HOPE!

Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, who has loved us and given us eternal comfort and good hope by grace, comfort and strengthen your hearts in every good work and word.
~2 Thessalonians 2:16-17

Those are pretty. It's too early for ours to be up, but can't wait to see them too.

Hope is wonderful. I am glad the Lord made it available to us. I am sorry for your families loss, but thankful you see God's hand.
Happy Valentine's Day!

So very sorry. I cannot even imagine. I do imagine she is dancing in fields of lovely flowers holding Christ's hand. Not that that takes away any sadness in a heart still on earth, but yes, gives hope for the soul.

How do you get to the point where the birthday of a grandchild who is no longer with you is just another day? I really wish I knew, because I, too, lost a grandchild at a very young age, and I am still having a hard time with the loss, especially on birthdays, anniversary of death, Christmas, etc.
I would like to find the acceptance you have found.

A day filled with hope indeed! Thinking of you and your family today.

daffodils? one of my favorite flowers because to me it is a sign of renewal. Mine are only peeking up about 2 inches. :) I await their arrival!

Nancyr-
My heart is broken for you...I DO know how you feel. No celebration passes without taking into account our loved ones who are not here with us. But nothing is greater than the Celebration of Life!
Please don't misunderstand me when I say that it is 'another day'...because to me EVERYDAY is ANOTHER DAY. The best day and the worst day. They are all given to me by God.
The only way I can cope with the loss of this grandchild, the loss of a parent, the loss of any family member who is close to me--is by faith. Faith is what makes us Victorious in overcoming this world; and the pain and suffering IN IT.
Life is fleeting-- for each of us. I have faith that my grandchild and your's IS the LORD's-- and just as it pleased Him to crush His own son--And make himself an offering for my(our) sin; it pleases Him that His name is glorified in ALL things.
--He has created all things and for His pleasure they were created.
He isn't surprised by these events-- we can not in our minds make sense of it. We can only Trust in Him; allow the Faith that He gives us to bring us Hope.
I'm praying for you... That you are able to put your Trust in Him for this--for all things.

The grace of the LORD Jesus Christ be with your spirit.Amen.

Thank you Pat for your words in the comments which have blessed my heart. Our loss has been two grandbabies born too soon from the womb, but God's grace is always sufficient and His comfort for our family most precious.

DL:
thank you for your comments.
That is the case with our grand-daughter, Ashlynn--She came to early; but lived To the Glory of God for 1-1/2 hrs.
His Grace is sufficient...and His Mercies are never ending.
