Today we took a break from everything and headed out on a trip to Dallas! To the State Fair of Texas…to be exact!
We had been given tickets by a neighbor of ours and my daughter loves going with her boys…my son in law couldn’t take off to go; and since she had the extra ticket…we were invited. Thursdays is senior day and so The Honey got in free. :D
I must say—I had the best time.
I haven’t been to the fair in quite a few years…I think the last time I went was with my kids when all 4 of them were TEENS! (the same neighbor had given us tickets)
Off we went,today--- The Honey, My youngest Dear-Daughter and her two boys! It has been so long since I’ve been to the fair with a small child…seeing the State Fair through a child’s eyes was fun!
I think the boys enjoyed the Aquarium the most…
But I enjoyed the dog show. Those dogs do some amazing things!
My pictures didn’t turn out all that great…but believe me… the dogs were a hoot!
Street performing African Acrobats! That is 4 chairs…stacked precariously in the air; and that young man is on top! They did lots of other feats of strength and agility…but this impressed me quite a bit!
The Honey and I …
framed by a neat piece of sculpture made of one of my favorite things… Rusted metal HEART!!!
I think the State Fair brings out the child in everybody.
There was so much that we did…and so much fun to be had, we couldn’t possibly do it all. I had a wonderful time.
I even rode down a SUPER SLIDE with my grandson---on a sack! Laughing the whole way.
That provided me with the best nugget to cherish, when he later told me…(with a huge smile on his face) “I had fun sliding on the big slide with you, Oma!” Made my heart swell. :D
