:: Today’s Sewing ::

I love sitting on my couch. The Honey says it’s comfy…but I’m not comfy unless I have some pillows to plump up!

My previous pillows still had “fluff'” left in them… so I just made some new covers.

pillows for the couch- betty's pillow slips

I used a couple of skirts that I bought from a yard sale  and the Hummingbird motifs are from some pillow slips that my Mother in love made for us years ago.   The slips were starting to show some wear… but the edges were still nice.

plaid bolster

I made this little bolster too.  I told you I like to plump!

We’re still having wonderful weather…so staying inside isn’t all I did today… I’ll post some of the outdoors-y stuff later in the week.

What did you do this weekend?

Something fun I hope!

I love pillows for back support. Your new ones are so cute! I meant to ask, what are the cushions stuffed with,,, down? They look so comfy.

I sewed a bit but mostly I cleaned up the sewing room that got so messy during the quilting stage. Now everything is back in place.

Love the pillows! I wanted to sew this weekend, but the sun was shining and it was pleasantly warm. Just couldn't help myself, so I played outside.

You know what? I was going to do the same thing! Using various articles of clothing (even a skirt) to recover my existing pillows. However, I didn't think of making slip covers, I was trying to figure out how to attach them permanently. I am so happy you shared this! Now it will be much easier for me! Thanks :)

We got a lot of stuff marked off our "to-do" list over the weekend. Thank goodness too. Your pillows look real comfy.

You made wonderful use of your time, and fabrics. I especially like the pillows, the pattern with the flowers sets it off wonderfully.

I love to have lots of pillows and that drives Steve crazy. I tell him to just set them aside if he doesn't want them. We have 7 big pillows on our bed and I use them to prop me up while I read blogs in bed.

I didn't mention that I like your pillows and the mix of plaids.
