Living in My Car~

Last week I spent a lot of time in my car.
Some of the things I noticed.  First…

car interior

ANTS!  Yes, the day I took my dad on his errands I noticed a few ants.  By the time I was heading home—I was so thankful that I didn’t have an allergy or a phobia!  I was even more thankful they were just sugar ants and they were NOT there to carry me away…or eat me!
I couldn’t get home quick enough.
I sprayed HOT SHOT all over the entire inside of my car and let it sit ,closed up tight, until Thursday morning! The ants I’m sure were attracted to PEPPERMINT wrappers I collected.  The Honey eats peppermints like they are… well, CANDY!  Most of the time he cleans them up and takes them out of the car, not sure why these were still there.
On Thursday—I noticed all the little drips and spills and tiny feet prints on the back of the seats,  while I was cleaning it out.   All part of the Little Tiny passenger experience. :)
Seriously, it looks like we live in there!
I wiped the entire inside down; the dash, the doors, the switches, knobs and gauges; the console, seats, door pockets …everything!  I use

Then, for about the 100th, time I noticed —the headliner starting to peel away near the front and the back window. I decided right then and there, I was going to glue it.  I had some spray glue and I added just a tiny bit.  The trick to gluing your headliner or most things that you would glue with spray glue, Is waiting…

waiting…

waiting…

It seems like a long time.  But really, it’s only 30 seconds.  yes! seconds.  You spray the glue on one part being glued then spray the second part that your gluing to; wait THIRTY SECONDS. Then gently press into place with your fingers.  Careful not to get glue on your hands.  Or pressing too hard. In fact, I used the back of my finger. It applies the right amount of pressure and any sticky that was on my fingers wouldn’t pull the work apart.

After I was finished with that. I loaded the 2 car seats into the trunk. Swept the floor mats off with the dust broom; and I was done!  Our car is about 12 yrs old. It has had it’s share of time in the shop—mostly preventative maintenance. We’re not in the market for a new car.   We try really hard to take care of it—no money in the budget to replace it. So checking the oil regularly and other fluids, keeping the tires rotated, wipers etc—all important.

I just wanted to sit in my car.  It was so clean. It Smelled so nice. That’s the
Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day Counter Top Spray, Lavender, 16 Ounce Bottle

AND!  it has automatic door locks. So I could be all by myself if I wanted. :)  NOW… If the radio worked—it would be perfect!

Til next time, Be Blessed!

Funny how quick a car can get dirty. I try to clean all the clutter ... like drink cups/bottles, napkins receipts, etc out every time I use it but that does not make it clean. Glad you got yours clean and smelling so good. I need to try that lavender spray.

ohhh, I don't like ants! good for you to clean it all up.

I will be taking a road trip next month, so I will need to get my car cleaned up...because I'll be meeting a friend, and I wouldn't want to force her to ride in the filth that is in my car at the moment. :(

I couldn't have a car without a working radio. The quiet makes my mind go crazy with silly and odd thoughts. I need something to occupy my pea brain. lol
