:: Alone-ness

humming bird
I read recently someone’s fortune they posted and it said that they ‘do their best work alone’
I think that may be true with me. Though I can’t say for sure.  I’m NEVER ALONE!

The other day, we needed something from town. The littles were all gone for the day.  1 hour. That’s how long it would take to jump in the car, drive around to the other side of the lake…shop at the Ace Hardware and hop back into the car and drive back.
The Honey asked me if I wanted to go then or wait until the next morning, which would have been a Saturday morning.

I suggested HE GO AND MAKE THE ERRAND.

As soon as the car was out of the car park and he was gone; I drew the curtains on the front windows and locked the front door. I wasn't going to answer it...no matter what!
I sprung into action!
I started supper.
I ran a HOT SOAPY DISH PAN FULL OF WATER!
I ran the vacuum on the living room and kitchen/dining rugs.
I swished the toilet bowl, and swept the bathroom.
I saw laundry on the line and ran outside and grabbed it all off; without a basket.

Ah-oh!  My daughter and her family were in the pool.  I’d been spotted!
The Littles shouted!  “Oma!  your home.”  My SIL asked “Where’s your car?”
I said “Honey took it.”   They were very surprised.
“You mean your home all alone? “
{Big Smile}  YEP!

I hurriedly dashed back inside the house with my laundry; to tend to my simmering supper and my soaking dishes. After that I folded the laundry and put it all away!

Honey got back home.  I greeted him at the door.  Like old times when he was gone all day—only he’d just been gone about an hour. I missed him! {Bigger Smile}
I felt accomplished.
The time will come one day—when I might find myself being alone.

But I do not wish for it.

Alone-ness comes at a price.

In the mean time--- I’ll enjoy stolen moments of Alone-ness, however they might come.
…And I’ll spend them at will!

Anybody can stop and smell the roses.  But cramming as much into one hour of doing WHATEVER you want… including cleaning (crazy I know!) or smelling roses, if that’s your thing;  well that’s sometimes the best way to spend Alone time if you ask me.

Til next time, Be Blessed!

I'm always alone (at home) and I love it!

I work best when it's cool and sunny..... puts me in such a great mood....oh yeah, with the radio blasting in the background. With the radio, I'm never really alone. :)
