:: De-cluttering Finds and my MODE OF OPERATION

Still working on de-cluttering around the house.  I have my list of To-Do’s …and then of course with the de-cluttering going on, I find something that needs my attention. You know…make a decision already!

I was looking for some paint supplies in my paint closet yesterday; and found these roman shades—by Levilor.SCORE!!… again.  Seriously, I bought these from one of my favorite places to shop… BARGAINLAND!  10 YEARS AGO!!! They were of course second hand—but new and still in the box. Why didn’t I put them up?  They were a ‘someday’ project and then…

roman shades pulled closedYou know, out of sight out of mind.  Not forgotten—just, you know STORED.

But I hung those babies up yesterday!  I love ‘em!

roman shades

They’re very crisp white!  But that’s ok… I have some premium royal trim paint…and this trim will get a new coat of paint!

Just like the trim in the kitchen!  That’s what I did last night…

…yes, I cheated and painted around the chalkboard.  I’ll paint the door again w/o the chalkboard…later.

See that piece of trim running from the door to the wall?  It’s been off for about 10 years. In fact, this isn’t even the same trim—not sure where that trim is—this is a piece from around a door or something, I saw it in the barn this summer when I was taking pictures during the High QUANTITY JUNK EXPONOT FORGOTTEN, JUST STORED.

So ten years for the blinds and ten years for the wood trim… I can’t help but wonder what was going on TEN YEARS AGO…THAT I’D HAVE ALL THESE PROJECTS GOING ON…and not complete them?!?!

Probably nothing… just my M.O. (shhh… you know I procrastinate, right?)  How about it?  Do you have ten year old projects waiting to be completed, tweaked, or abandoned all together?  Do you finish every project you ever start?  If so… ATTA-GIRL! (…or guy…if you’re reading)

Click here for more post on the HQ JUNK XPO and some of the projects I’ve done with my HIGH QUANTITIES OF JUNK…(from the barn)

‘Til next time, Be Blessed~
Patricia

I love the shades! So light and airy! Just my style. Although I don't have any in my house. To order, they are too pricey for me. I know you're glad you came upon them, already purchased:) I love hardwood floors.

it must have felt super great, running across those shades! They look great. At the moment...I do not have any projects going on. I think my motivation is still on vacation. I sure admire all your hard work and your get up and go...

No, I don't finish everything I start but sometimes they turn out to be not worth finishing.

I have to say your work on your home spruce up is looking great!

Dear Sweet Patricia, don't you go and over work yourself. Really, I've been on a cleaning and organizing kick too. It feels so good, doesn't it:) Today I put together a shelving unit from Home Depot and then cleaned and organized the well-house. By the way, I love your crisp white shades and nothing spruces up a room like painting the trim. It's something that you can over look and then when you do it . . . wow . . . what a difference. Just think when spring gets here you'll have your home all prettied up and you can spend more time outside in the sunshine :)
Have a lovely day tomorrow and don't work too hard.
Your blogging sister,
Connie :)

Procrastinator is my middle name. Or at least it was in the past. I'm getting better at it now. I just don't start unless I can finish it, but no projects going on now. I love the roman shades. I've always wanted some. And the floor? Wonderful job!!

Very nice! I can't believe you "lost" them all that time.

If my husband paints the porch floor I will likely die of shock. I think it has been 10 years at least! Every time anyone asks if they can do anything to help me I always laugh and say "Yes, paint my porch!" I get the strangest looks.

MAJOR SCORE! Didn't you say you started blogging ten years ago. Yeah, that! :)

organizing and "shopping" at the same time... love it! I've been organizing my attic, same thing... I keep finding lots of treasures that I hid up there for safe keeping and totally forgot that I had. : )
Have a great day.

I have so many projects waiting! Old curtains waiting to be made into roman shades (I loathe that type of sewing), slipcovers, closet curtains for the girls' room and swiffer covers! I am finally getting so much better about finishing projects, though! I actually started and finished crocheting a baby blanket, Doctor Who scarf (super long!) and a Gru scarf (also long!) before Christmas. I was extremely pleased with myself! I recently finished an adorable hoodie/scarf combo for Littlest Girl. It feels SO GOOD to finally be someone who Finishes Things!

Those shades look perfect with your new wood walls, which I love, by the way. I'd love to have a room done in that. The shades are just the right compliment, I think. You are busy, busy, busy. Don't overdo it! When is your target date to put the house on the market? Ann
