:: The Favorite Thing about My New Floor and Hookin’

**affiliate links to follow
Cleaning it!
It’s true—before, I would clean the floor, but it was in such bad shape, it just seemed like wasted effort. I’d sweep, mop and come back in the room and feel like I hadn’t cleaned it all!   I had  a rug in there and I’d vacuum it, but—I’m talking about the wood floor; perimeter and the area on the kitchen side that was exposed.  Just never felt clean to me.

I already have a Mr. Clean Micro-fiber Mop

that I used on my bathroom floor—I love that thing!  But it needs a new mop pad—instead of buying one, the other day, I made this one! I just crocheted (single crochet; back loop, with worsted weight yarn)  it the length I needed with enough to fold over the ends, stitched it closed on the sides and TA=DAH!

I’ll use it in the kitchen. The thing is it doesn’t take very much yarn.  I can use up my leftovers to make more.  One for the bathroom; and then maybe a couple for my girls—they’d love it!

For the floor, I just use a spray bottle and about

  • 1/4 cup white vinegar

  • 1 cup water

Spray the floor and mop it clean!

I like how it looks afterwards and I’m happy it not only looks clean; but have confidence it’s CLEAN when I come back in the room after FIVE MINUTES!

I bought my Mr. Clean Micro-fiber Mop at Dollar General but you can get yours at Amazon. ;)

They also sell refills if you don't want to crochet your own!

I’ve been ::HOOKIN’ other little things as you can imagine; with the grandbabies on the
way! I’ll show you that later, LORD willing! What have you been HOOKIN’?

‘Til next time, Be Blessed~

Great idea...I've got to crochet me a mop head...the one on my steam mop has always been ill-fitting.

I'll admit I have used wash cloths on my swifter but it only works a little, for minor cleaning after a good vacuuming. I like the crochet, adds more grit to scrub with.

Oh Patricia, the floor is gleaming clean!!!! Funny, I was just thinking of you a few minutes ago, when I got a crocheted rag out to clean something. My mom made them for me and they are my favorite rags!!!! Blessings.

I don't crotchet but love the idea of putting the vinegar and water in a spray bottle. I use a bucket and a mop. I need to regroup LOL and get with the program here! Thanks!
