Rain, Whimsy and Produce

We’ve had some rain—and are expecting more this week. It has kept everything green and growing around here!

June Rain 2015

After years of an on-going drought. I am not going to complain.  The shower pictured here was a welcome relief from a hot humid day. It cooled down a bit.  I took this last week.
Colonel Sanders is hidden in the garden behind all the wild grape and 4 O’clocks… I just haven’t had the chance to get the gardens ‘tamed’ this year

He is supposed to be standing sentry duty.  But he really looks more like he is hiding from someone!
There is just so much, going on right now, still; I’m glad  We I decided to go ahead and plant a little bit of a garden (seen in the first picture)  this year.  After the “we’re moving, now we’re not saga”  I just planted in the two remaining bed boxes.  You can see they’re full.
Well, they’re over flowing now… I took pictures today but didn’t get them downloaded.  I was mainly interested in getting some produce!

I was surprised to get a cucumber and a couple of tomatoes already!  Especially, since we got such a late start.

Just goes to show you… whether you have a large area to plant, like we do;  or you have just a small plot, or only room OR TIME for a few boxes or containers, like we DID. You can still grow something to put on the table.
You just have to do it!

** also, there is a new post up on the CAN (the Tin-Can Camper) …considering changing the name of that blog… I’ll let you know if I do!

‘Til next time,
Be blessed!

I am so jealous of that rain. I finally got a comment on here but yes it worked from the laptop.

Yay to the garden bounty. I'm about to go check my garden. I'm pretty sure I have radishes, but I am praying the rain has not caused any rot out there.

For the first time in many years, I planted two tomato plants and have been getting 2-3 every day and am so excited. LOL Glad you got some rain. We have just been swamped with rain for the last two months. A lot of my plants have just rotten off in the ground. I'm not complaining tho because in a few weeks, we'll be wishing for rain.

Your garden has grown nicely.

We need some rain. We're not in a drought, but everything is looking a little wilted. :(

I think we're going to get some stuff from your neck of the woods in a couple of days. I hope all is well there.

tomatoes? wow, we never get them this early.

Yep. This was supposed to be the year I built some raised beds and .... But alas, it was not. No good tomatoes for me this year. Enjoy the fruits of your labor.
