Fishing for Inspiration!

I've been searching the web and came across some photos with fish in the decor.
These are from Martha Stewart--
 TOO CABIN-Y  for my taste.

However, I've found in all my searching,
I'm not alone
you can read this blog
Ginger decorates with her man's taste in mind too!
Lucky girl!  I know her situation too well!
Check out this table center piece...
a fishing creel!  How cool is that?

So, No- I'm not going all out 'fishy';  but I do want to decorate my living room with My Honey in mind.
I don't want KITSCHY.
You see my dilemma?
I am not going to be incorporating all these fishy things into my decor-- but a subtle nod to the fact that an ANGLER lives here is a pretty good gesture and a bit quirky!
I like quirky.

Now I'm no Miss Mustard Seed-- but isn't this a bit quirky? (SMILE)

I have been looking around the internet for ideas on what to do with my  Honey's fish-- and some of the best ideas are just handed to me!
'WORK WITH IT!'

Make it look like it was deliberate.
So the wheels are turning.
Hopefully I'll get it done and have it all ready to post before MSS gets her 4000th follower...
AND I'M ALLOWED TO COPY HER!

If you're not sure what I mean...you can read here at Miss Mustard Seed's blog or here at Funky Junk Interiors blog (a.k.a Donna)

They've got a
Copy Cat Challenge
 coming up really soon.

Stay tuned!

As for me--- I've got to get busy!

God Bless you
and
Thanks for reading.

P.S.-- stay warm where ever you are!

You have a really nice blog, and I love how you came up with the name. You are very innovative!

The creel centerpiece is adorable, and if we were fisherpeople (is that a word?) I'd steal the idea for summer decor. As it is, we fish at the local supermarket. But, like your corn in the coffee pot, it's great to find new uses for things! (I think that might be what is called serendipity.)

Isn't it something how a room can totally evolve around ONE thing? Those subtly important things can drive you crazy... or inspire your desire to create the perfect fit. Looks like you're on the right path! I know you'll find the perfect fit : )

ooh, I can't wait to see what you come up with! I'm finally getting to catching up with all my favorite blogs. I've been spending the day just visiting every blog on my blogroll and catching up. So sorry it took me so long, this past week was all spent getting my house party ready.

I love the idea of incorporating fishing in your decor for your hubby. I'm sure you'll think of a way that fits in.

Just wanted to thank you for visiting junkblossoms. I am finally able to say no to keeping my junk. I am good at letting it get to the booth.

When I first moved in with my beau, decorating with fish seemed daunting- but I've come to love the challenge! Thanks for the mention on this page- glad you like my creel!
I've had a peek forward in your blog and I have to say, I love how you've pulled things together! I've been looking for a nice gold frame to put around my pike like you've done with your fish- it looks great!
Oh! And if you're ever in need of a little more inspiration, Bass Pro Shops is a great place to get decor ideas (seriously)!!
