Help STOP De~CLUTTERING!

I've been reading around blog-land the last couple of days.
While peeking at what everyone else is doing~  DE-CLUTTERING;  I can't help it, my mind wanders to other parts of my home, thinking-
"I should get up from here", "I should be doing this, that or the other thing"
the whole while not able to pull myself away!

"Somewhere there is a base-board that needs washing."

I have an urgency to be de-cluttering ...as it is now called. I can't help but wonder...

"The bathroom  needs a good scouring and refreshing."
What was it called before now? Before the Millennium?

What was it called when our mothers were doing it ...

"open the windows and let in the light and fresh air"
or when our Grandmothers did it?

Did they declutter?
Did they have to?

"Put  fresh linens on the beds"

Weren't they more sensible than us? Did they have to worry with all the little things?
Where to put the china?
Where to put the lace?
Where to put the extra?

"Mop the floors

Probably not. Their purchases were more thought out, I'm sure.
They were more practical than that, weren't they?

"Rearrange the living room to catch the best breeze."

Why? Why did they (whomever They are) have to take a such beautiful thing LIKE SPRING CLEANING and make it dirty?
What was WRONG with SPRING CLEANING?

HELP STOP DE-CLUTTERING!
Let's make "KEEPING OUR HOMES" beautiful AGAIN.
and let's get busy and SPRING CLEAN!!

Yep. De-cluttering is right up there with Fine Arts Center (auditorium)and Independent Learning Center (library). If it weren't so early in the morning I could come up with a few more! What I REALLY don't like about it all - "they" say WE are Over the Hill! When my grandparents and parents were young - all sorts they saw all sorts of new things that had never been before - electricity, indoor plumbing, television, etc. What we've seen is more improvement with things we've always known. Looks like we're reached the point that we have so many things we have to rename them so we can pretend there's something new under the sun :)

I'm one who has always done spring cleaning. Don't know who came up with that de-cluttering term but don't much care for it.

Spring Cleaning sounds better, at least it gives us a little bit of hope of the warmer weather. Love the post and the pictures!

Frankly , my dear, I love that word (although I don't believe it is in my dictionary). I like it because it gives be a free feeling when I do it. AND YET ...I have to have a little of clutter in my life to make me feel homey ;0)

I think a "decorated" home looks homey and nesty, if that is a word.
