It’s like spring cleaning~ only in the Fall!

(source)

I don’t know if I’m not looking in the correct place OR WHAT! (our local Wal-known store was recently remodeled) …but I’ve never EVER seen Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day products in that store.(although, they do have it online)  They don’t seem to carry it in the local grocers either.

So, you can just imagine my surprise last week when I was inside a hardware store and there, right near the register was a whole shelf full of her products…YES~ I bought a bottle. Being the tight wad frugal shopper that I am; I wanted to spend the least amount possible and I bought the ALL PURPOSE CLEANER in concentrate.

Today, I poured a quarter cup into a gallon sized, empty milk container and filled her up!  I ‘went to town’ …and wiped down everything in my kitchen.

I bought the lavender scent~ I love the way it smells!

Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day Household Cleaners make cleaning your home fresh, fun, and fragrant. All of our cleaners are made with natural essential oils, are biodegradable and phosphate-free, and we never test on animals. Whether you use our All Purpose Cleaner (good for just about everything) our Dish Soap (cuts grease like nobody’s business), or any of our other cleaning supplies, you’ll find our products are good for your house, your nose, and the environment.

I also bought a new belt, when I was there, for my vacuum. I have a very old Kirby—it was my mom’s.  She got it when I was 5 or 6 years old… so it’s at least a 1970’s model or older.  It works great! and since my youngest daughter has my Kirby at her house; I figured I get this one out and use it, why not? It still works like a champ!  I should of taken a picture of it…but I didn’t.

The last thing I did tonight was buy all the ingredients for Homemade Laundry Soap. I generally make this about once every 8-10 months or so; it lasts a long time. I’ve been doing some soaking and spot removal so I’ve used almost all the Borax  this time. I was running low—it’s getting time to make more.  I’ve posted about it before. So I won’t post the recipe but I will post the ingredients.

  • Arm and Hammer Washing Soda
  • 20 mule team Borax
  • Zote or Fels Naptha (either one I use the Zote; it’s what they carry around here in the local stores)

We’ve been finally, enjoying cooler temps during the day. We’ve had our windows open almost everyday the last couple of weeks. Unless it gets hot—which it has been in the 90’s two or three days last week, but mornings are nice and so are the evenings. Very comfortable and a nice change from~  SWELTERING!

Point is—having the windows open makes me want to clean. Do you get that way? I try to get my big cleaning projects done in the spring—but well, this year it didn’t happen. So I’m using my cool weather days to do that now. It just makes everything so nice~

Honey and I have also been working on various projects around the house. Combating Grasshoppers, Chickens, and Siding, just to name a few!

I hope to have pictures and posts about those later in the week.

I’m posting here:

God bless you and thanks for reading!

I've been doing some fall cleaning myself and I will have to be on the lookout for the Meyers Clean Day product.

Have a wonderful day,
Gail

At our local Chinese embassy Mrs. Meyers is located in the clearance section. Either on the clearance carts or in the isle that is housing the toy clearance items.

I almost deleted your comment, but my brother explained it to me...and that's just funny! I feel the same way!
I rarely shop there.

Great post...unfortunately, we can't that that product here in Canada. Because of allergies to smells, I am stuck with just water and vinegar for most household cleaning.

Great post...thank you for sharing.

I am "fall" cleaning here as well. Lots of work to get done before the snow falls.

I love Mrs. Meyers cleaning products, especially the lavender! I spray everything just to smell it. :) I started fall cleaning today or at least all the deck furniture, next I need to do the windows. :)
hugs!

I am fall cleaning. busy summer our one and only bathrm was remodeled this summer. 3 wks. with no bathrm. then we took a vacation. now I am getting ready for the ladies luncheon this month at our home. I have been little by little getting my 49 yr. old rambler to look 21 century. getting really good deals on curtains, mirrors, pictures, lamps. Really have not spent a lot for what I have achieved so far. We need to paint the lvrm., dnrm, and office. That might come in the next couple months. We will all be encouraged to hear you are "fall" cleaning instead of "spring" :)
