Rose colored glasses? No. Tulle with a rosy tint - or perhaps a rosy tent?
A thin veil?
OR…A thin vale? New growth returning to the land.

Well, I just put this over my raised bed on Wed.
You can see that it is gathered together...I got really technical and used an office stapler.
So far it seems to be holding up fairly well. It does snag. Ideally- I think it would work better if I had rounded hoops over the garden. But...I don't have that yet.
This TULLE was about .97 cents a yard- at WM or as anonymous put it the other day...The Local Chinese Embassy...he he he. It just happened to be 72 inches in width instead of the normal 60. So I bought what was on the roll.
So far I've only seen 2 grasshoppers in there. But I've squished 'em!
I'll keep you posted as it goes. The Husband said it's going to blow away. I have it held down with boards. We'll see. The wind would have to kick up for that!

This rose tulle tent looks like a great idea to me. I hope it works well. Please keep us advised with updates. Grasshoppers are tough pests, they're so big, with large chewing mouth parts, and closed internal systems. They're hard to kill without strong chemicals, and I am vowed off of chems. I hate fighting with them. This year I was lucky and only saw a few.

I think we are going to put our strawberries in raised beds next spring. Our chickens eat most of our pesky grasshoppers, but they are starting to get into my flower beds now (the chickens).
Ugh. Grasshoppers. This looks like a pretty smart idea.
Our most evil pest is always caterpillars. Found a bunch of them munching down on our lettuce. And they've come close to eating entire small current bushes in a day.
I love that idea for the tent. I hope it works well.
