Small Cottage with a Private Bath~

First—let me just start by saying you know when blogging has made an impact on you by the friends you’ve made- when yougoogle’  - PRIVATE BATH SIGNS-  and this pops up on Google images and you know who the bathroom belongs to without ever being IN THAT BATHROOM.
Crazy!

It belongs to  Lezlee at Priorlives  -- she was recently awarded a Best of HOUZZ 2012 for her TREE HOUSE…be sure and hop over there and congratulate her. If you don’t know her—take a look around…She is full of fabulous junk ideas!  Not to mention a sweet fun loving kind of gal. We don’t live very far from each other—we’ve had lunch and we run into each other around town.  But I feel like I’ve known her a life time!
Now on with the SIGN-- I got the itch to paint something the other day…and after finding a scrap piece of very thin plywood stuffed in a corner of the front bedroom while cleaning and searching the WWW for inspiration —I just decided to do it!

It’s not perfect - but I like it. I used a stencil (my stencil is sort of small) for the lettering and a paint pen. I also used the paint pen to draw the white lines… because this happened…100_0166
First I painted the green. 100_0167
Then I used painter’s tape—probably old painter’s tape. 100_0170
brushed on the black. DIY chalk paint.100_0172
Pulled the tape off and… ~ ICK!
Paint pens are wonderful.

I think I might hit it with a piece of sandpaper to roughen it up a bit.
Then I’ll hang it.

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.

Love your bath sign! And the wavy lines make it look more rustic and hand made. I like things that way. Thanks for sharing.

You know I think the jagged edges from the tape look okay, but understand you wanting to even them out. I say sand. It's my latest thing - I will sand anything these days. Ann
