:: Showers of Blessings::

This week we had a pretty good rain.
The Littles were here...(no pictures, sorry you know my rule)  they got to play in the rain, while I was nice and dry under the new porch awning!
No leaks!!! YEAH!!!
That makes me happy.
Anyway- afterwards, I walked around the yard and took some pictures.

Everything came alive after the rain. The barn wood was soaked and seemed so much richer and vibrant from the rain. The grass was greener and the trees were too.

The beauty of life was all around...soaking up every new drop of water, that hung onto every dry flower petal...

and dampened every blade of grass!
While the chickens usually prefer a dry dust bath to soaking rains; even they came out to play in the water, as it pelted the ground in giant droplets. Afterwards, George strutted around the yard. It was fun to watch him shake the water from his feathery body; like a Labrador Retriever flinging water from his fur, as he steps from the pond, on a hot summer afternoon.

They say "the grass is greener on the other side of the fence", well, at least today, it isn't so brown. Since the rain has come, the grass is a little bit brighter yellow with a few strands of green stretching toward the sunshine with strength and renewal!

As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.
As the rain and the snow
come down from heaven,
and do not return to it
without watering the earth
and making it bud and flourish,
so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,
so is my word that goes out from my mouth:
It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
~Isaiah 55:9-11

I pray that where ever you are today, that you receive Showers of Blessings!

Oh my word. I love everything about your yard but the freaky rooster. I would be running...

So glad you got that much needed rain. Your barn is spectacular! Almost as spectacular as George thinks he is! Ann

it smelled sooo good, the rain...It did green things up, but not as much as William thought (he had on sun glasses...Hee Hee) You got some great shots of the yard and nothing better than playing in the rain, next time join in!

So glad the rain came to you and your
area.. funny how the rooster ran, I did
not know chickens did not like rain?
When you speak of the littles, I'm thinking
it's the grandkids... if so I have the
same rule.. for some reason me and my
daughter agreed to not put them on the
net..I really believe they need to make
such a decision when their old enough to
understand.
Enjoy the rain. Hope it comes back often.

Hey girl, your blog is looking really nice! I love the way you presented the photos today.
It's raining here today, we need it badly. Our lawns aren't brown yet, but there definitely brown areas in them.
Have a wonderful Sunday.
Hugs, Cindy

I think you live in a beautiful place! What a blessing the showers are, and how everything springs into animated life! The verse you quoted is one of my all-time favorites!
