:: Forced Inspiration OR ::

...A Tale of Two tables.

Ok...so here is the deal...
I've been buying sewing machines.
First, I helped my daughter choose one for herself at the thrift store.
Then...I went back and bought my Husqvarna Viking machine
and then a couple of weeks later, when they still had two left...
I bought both of them for $4 each.
But, that's not what I'm here to tell you about.
I want to tell you a tale of two tables... because of the aforementioned sewing machines...

I gave away my table (the one below) ...so she'd have a place to sew when she wants.

Ever since I helped my daughter with her purchase...
the side of my bed looks like this...
a toxic dump!!!

see how everything is just thrown on top of my shoes...right on the floor?!
Yes-- see, I've been sewing, painting, wrangling chickens and keets... I can't see this mess when the lights are out...I'm sleeping after a HARD days work.
I looked around at the the thrift for a table...but really I have so much furniture...I didn't want to buy anything else. I knew I'd find something to work beside my bed.

I read this... :: Cottage Instincts::
Cindy has recently started her own business and it always showing some beautifully made over furniture...
including this little number she calls "Tanya" in a lovely green. :)

van Gogh Paint/Product Review

I was feeling inspired!
I had a similar table...
including magazine rack!

Well, that settled it... I was going to take this little table from the living room and add some legs and paint!

Legs? Yes, legs.
I can't wait to show you what I've done with my little table!
...Or the whole corner on my side of the bed.

I like it!

Delight yourself in the LORD and He will give you the desires of your heart. ~ Psalm 37:4

Oh thats going to be adorable! Im also looking for very low to the ground tables to go in my new "woman cave"....LOL while I was at Walmart today they had actual wooden crates painted in black for 16 dollars each. I was going to grab them but was afraid they would be too short since I hadn't measured yet. Should have they'll fit perfectly and they can be painted which I plan to because they don't have any kind of finish on them. So I think I'll be heading back there tomorrow :)

Hope it works for you, I love seeing re dos.
We have a similar table to yours, maybe a little bigger and it is by hubbies chair in the living room. His is oak and he would not be amused if I painted it though.

I love it when I can find something in the house to use instead of buying more.

You didn't mention grasshoppers so I hope they are all gone.

Don't feel bad, my husband's corner of the bedroom looks like yours and we don't have any excuses! I can't wait to see what you do with your table.

Oh I need to get painting too. My hubby even put out the cans I need for me. Do you think he was trying to say something? I love that blue color. Is that what you are going to use?

Well, my silly little The Old Reader is NOT working... so I hopped over to your blog today, and read from the top down... which was backwards. LOL I was lucky to see the after first... then read how you go to that cute little table!
Great job on adding the legs. It's a fun way to change things up!
The color does NOT look like a red, but I'll take your word for it.
I too have a lot of firestorm products... they have served me well.
The weather here this week is perfect! 80's and NO humidity. It's going to be a marathon work week in the shop for me!
hop you're having a great week,
