:: Happy Thanksgiving ::

I was outside today hanging out laundry…and I saw a huge bird.
Now, I did NOT have my glasses on and can’t see far away but I could tell there was definitely a huge bird on the hill beside my neighbors stock pond.

I left the laundry and came into the house to grab my glasses, camera and binoculars.
This is what I captured.

Blue Heron betty's pond 2
Blue Heron?  I’m thinking.  It was quite large.  It stood there watching me.  It was just sitting there warming in the sun.

The little stand of trees behind it was blocking the north wind.  You can see it’s feathers ruffled by the breeze. It was about 43° out there.

I went back to my laundry…

and was thinking how majestic this bird is;  how blessed I am to get to see it in it’s natural habitat and glory.

It made me Thankful to God where HE has put us to live.  May I not take one moment of it for granted.

I pray you have a blessed and Happy Thanksgiving. No matter where you are; no matter if you share the day with someone or you spend your time alone…

The grace of the LORD Jesus Christ be with your spirit.

For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.” ~Psalm 100:5

My favorite bird. Sometimes one flies over and rests awhile on my back shed roof (I know it is eyeing my neighbours pond that once had fish).

It does look like a blue heron, we have those here in Manitoba in the summer time. Perhaps that is one that has migrated south to Texas to spend the Winter. Tell him hello for us and we'll be looking for him in the Spring time!
Hugs, Cindy
