:: Looking Forward to Fall Finally::

We had such a hot, dry summer.  Our Fall has been a welcomed time. Not too, cold too fast. We’ve enjoyed being outside and working and getting to do and catch up on things we otherwise don’t get to do during our Summers here.

I took this picture out the back door I think on Friday (Nov 1) —before the time change.

Storm clouds were building and the rain was coming.  It didn’t get cold …but the sky changed kind of quickly.

rain clouds at sunset- pink and orange sky

I didn’t change anything about this photo. I love the silhouette of the huge Oak tree near the back fence. The pink and orange sky… and the CHROME LOOKING SUN.

Here it is a few minutes later…

rain in the distance -

As it was starting to rain.

I just love the Majesty of these photos.

Not long after that… “the bottom fell out”

It has rained almost all this week—and we’ve had grey skies outside, still they are beautiful too. The rain is much needed; so I can’t complain. Even with the grey skies, we’ve still had temps in the 70’s…

I’m ready for cooler temps, HOT home-cooked meals; and  being warmed by the wood stove.

I’m looking forward to seeing family later in the month, my dad, my brothers and their families. I looking forward to having Thanksgiving Gathering with them at my daughters house. The first time in 12 years we’ve not had Thanksgiving here.

What sort of things are you looking forward to, this time of year?

“Shout joyfully to the LORD all the earth. Serve the LORD with gladness; Come before Him with Joyful singing. “

~ Psalm 100: 1-2

I am looking forward to wearing my new boots, hot chocolate, fires in the fireplace, and red leaves on trees. Great photos.

Very pretty sky. I am looking forward to some days off. I have lots of vacation time still available so I scheduled lots of Fridays to make long weekends out of them. Let us know how Thanksgiving goes. Are you helping with the cooking or do you get to relax this year?

That is an awesome looking sky you captured, straight from GOD'S coloring book to be sure. I'm one of the people who like to skywatch, amazing beauty. Thank you for always stopping over at my place and leaving a comment, I do enjoy hearing from you. Shawl is coming along well, and that gives me inspiration to forge ahead. Looking forward to the aroma of the Thanksgiving Day meal in my oven...Nothing better than that.:)

Thanks for sharing these beautiful photos. Sunsets can be so beautiful and change with the blink of an eye. We had a good rain, cooled down, but nice comfortable Fall weather. Really not looking forward to freezing weather.
Blessings.

You look to be having a gorgeous fall! Wonderful photos. I would welcome the rain too. I'm looking forward to a good family visit too. (And so glad that you liked my paper wreath! I hope you get a chance to make one!)

Autumn just began here, too. It means we get a reprieve from heat for 6 whole months! Rain? What's that? ;)

This is my favorite time of the year. Our summers are brutal, even though this past one wasn't as bad as some have been. Your photos are beautiful! I was out trying to capture a sunrise in my backyard just this morning.

I have just discovered your blog and I'm enjoying it immensely. I invite you to visit mine when you have time.

Your sky photos are beautiful, such wonderful colours!
It has been down around freezing here for the past several weeks. It snowed a tiny bit today.
I look forward to crunching through the snow, ice-skating, blinding blue skies against the white landscape. And I love baking bread and having a nice hot soup ready for supper. Oh my, I do love the Fall and Winter time!
