::Goals 2014- Staying on Track? Personal Review…

Personal Life--

  • Set aside time for healthy eating and exercise.—Eh,not so much!
  • Set aside special times for my husband. VASTLY IMPROVED. :)
  • Spend more time reading the Word of God and memorizing it.--  This project has helped in this area!
  • Spend more time in prayer—Finding respite in prayer
  • Spend more MEANINGFUL time with my family (*and Friends) --- As with any family; my family has hurts and needs right now. –I’M LEARNING that: TIME IS ALL WE HAVE

The goals in this section are probably the highest on my list though I’ve written them here last, they are not the least in importance. I know if I make improvements here in this category—the rest of my goals will either FALL AWAY or become A LIGHTER LOAD TO CARRY.

************************************************

There’s really not any point of making a list if you don’t return to it,on occasion; and review the Goals you’ve set for yourself—You can read my list, in full, here

I took some time off from blogging recently. During that time I reconnected with a good friend.  T.H. and I visited with them in their home.  One of the things that came up was bible talk.  I had mentioned that I wasn’t able to read the smaller print from my new bible. That I missed using my old bible—while I still had it, I kept it put up; because the binding was coming apart and The Book of Ephesians had COME OUT!  Along with pages from various other New Testament books.  Right away –she showed me her and her husbands bibles and how they had similar situations and they DIY’d their bibles.

Naturally, I wanted to do this!  Why hadn’t I thought of doing it myself?  I THINK HAD…but just hadn’t taken the time to research.  I know THAT bible came to mind when I wrote my list in January.  I just don’t care to read my bible ELECTRONICALLY—and like I said, my newer bible had too fine a print.

What follows are my pictures of my bible rebinding process intermingled with the Destruction THAT IS BUSTER!

NOTE:

Sometime in the last year…(almost, we’ll have had Buster a year Memorial Day weekend at the end of this month. Can you believe it?) Anyway, Buster had a complete COME-APART-ONE-DAY WHILE LEFT INSIDE—we were gone about 4 1/2 hrs.

He utterly destroyed my living room.  I was distraught he actually bit off a piece of my couch, that I had worked so hard to recover—and almost destroyed my already FRAIL and well worn bible.  I was so upset. I never did a post about it. It was bad— SERIOUSLY…I THOUGHT WE HAD BEEN BROKEN INTO WHEN I GOT HOME THAT DAY.

oKAY…

  • Back to the Bible and book re-binding.

--AFTER- Outside: front and backbible after

You can see a little bit of the some pages peeking out there—those are the very frail and little bit frayed pages of Ephesians.  They are in there—just not all the way.  I trimmed them up a bit afterward.  I love it.  I can read this bible with no problems—and I have all my notes, highlighted areas and hand written references inside.  It feels good to hold it in my hands again and read it. I’m grateful my friend showed me this tutorial The written WORD is a help to me most days- to read encouraging and uplifting words.

~ Thy word IS a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. ~ Psalm 119:105

…Til next time, be blessed.

Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. ~ 2 Timothy 4:2

I've had a few times in my life where a dog or cat's naughty moments and the ensuing clean up/recovery gave me the impetus to fix something that had needed attention. One thing about dogs, is that they teach us the power of forgiveness. I used to counsel people and tell them to practice forgiving their cat or dog because they don't have "intentions." Then once they had the strength in their hearts from practicing that, apply that to being able to forgive people. Pet's do lots of miraculous things even if they don't intend to.

I'm thinking that Buster just may have found himself in the DOGHOUSE. Bless your heart! What a scene that must have been...to come home to. You know what they say....."A bible that is in perfect condition is obviously not being read"......I'm with you, I don't like to read electronic bibles...and my bible looks a whole lot like yours. Thanks for the info, I need to do some repairs.
Have a blessed day

Hi Pat, sorry to say I have not been blog visiting much at all but I am trying to get caught up with you. :)
When husband was in a VA hospital for a surgery, a chaplain gave us a extra large print KJV Bible. We used it just a bit but it is not the translation we prefer.
If you would like it, I would be very happy to mail it to you.
