:: Rhyme and Reason-

 rhyme and reason 2 horses
I have no idea what these horses’ names are—but Rhyme and Reason sounded good to me; as I was scrolling through some photos for this post.  I decided on this group.  I took most of these with my iPhone.  I was reminded of a trip “out” for the day, a few weeks back.
I had had enough.   I needed some space.   I hardly ever get like this.  I love to be around people—especially, my family.
But this day—I just picked up and took off! I’m not sure what exactly was going on—but I just needed a breather. I drove around the lake, went to a few stores—picked up some items that I knew were on sale for a short time; I was out of the house, might as well make some good use of my time, right?
I  went to the car wash and washed my car; I also treated myself to a Route 44 ‘CHERRY LIMEADE’ at the near by Sonic…
Went and looked at a little house for sale—WAaaaaaay, on the far side of the lake.  Needs work. Much like my own house.  I’m not interested in fixing it up.  NOT THAT DAY.   I have enough on my plate right now.
oversizedload
Some days this is how I feel; like I am carrying an OVER-SIZED LOAD (this picture was lumped in with the day trip pictures, not taken the same day) --Funny thing about this picture—you may not know it—but waaaaay, past the shed, down near the Oak Tree…loping along in the shadows there is a SKUNK!
stinkybusiness2
Pretty funny, considering—the day I took my  ‘day trip’…I was feeling pretty stinky. But I digress.
So, I just drove through the countryside, that day—stopping every now and then to take some pictures.
For the most part, the weather was pretty nice.  There were cool breezes when I got out to take pictures of the horses, or this BULL…
the BULL behind me
It was over-cast—but not bad weather.
Then I started heading toward my home—I was prompted on my phone to a weather alert. Severe weather was in our neighborhood. I was thinking about my family. Wondering if there was in-fact, “ping-pong sized” hail being hurled down upon my house. If thunder and lightening was having its way there too.
This is what it looked like near my home—very dark and ominous. stormbackhome
But just down the road from there… This! I decided to stay put ; a safe distance from the storm.

While I waited—I met these two, friendly horses. They came up to the fence to greet me.
Rhyme Reason
…and while I waited I was thinking about my family, I prayed and asked God to watch over them.
Suddenly, things became clearer for me. I was grateful for so much. I was grateful for so little---being so much.   I literally waited until the skies cleared and it looked safe to return home—before heading back.
freshwaterpond
This pond was on the turn off toward home, after the storm had passed.  I thought of the 23 Psalm—and the truth behind the words—He leads me beside still waters…
I’ve thought about all the different times GOD has calmed the storm in my life…making a way for me to return home. He is FAITHFUL.

Til next time, Be Blessed!

You hit the nail on the head with the phrase "with so little being so much".

We have many wealthy friends who are still working and say they envy us in retirement. The reason we were able to retire is because we have always "lived small". Our friends often had to have the newest, biggest, brightest . . . and now they have all that, but what they don't have is the leisure time to take a drive and sit by the road looking at horses and reflecting on life.

You are fortunate that you are content.

I am so glad I came looking for you. I have been an email subscriber for some time and recently almost all blogs which I follow have stopped getting thru. I know about the time we need to be alone. We have to getaway and restock. He fills us up when we take a few minutes to ourselves. He is faithful, indeed.

I often feel like I need a day for just me and my camera. You know, the kind of day when you take a sack lunch and just head out... Great photos here...such beauty all around.
