Friday Night—the girls came with their families…both my sons work, though I had my oldest son’s kids--
We spent time in the pool and then had Chili Dogs- Chips and Cookies—
by evening
We had FIRECRACKERS FOR THE KIDS!
Saturday was spent outside—working to tear down the old shed!
We’ve had our NEW SHED about 3 months now and we’ve had so much rain—getting the old shed cleaned out was starting to drag on… and on…and on!
It wasn’t so much cleaning out—but organizing the new shed was part of it too. We finally pulled out the left overs—and called a guy. Yes! Junkers… we called a guy. He came and hauled away a bunch of RUSTY – FULLY –RE-purpose-able ( made that one up) metal JUNK. No. I didn’t take pictures.
I couldn’t bear it. OR BARE IT… either way!
The wood? Burn pile.
See? We built a pallet shed…long before PALLET SHEDS WERE COOL. It lasted about 15 years. Not too shabby for Re-purposed wood. It had seen better days and was finally starting to become somewhat of a hazard.
It had to come down.
That is just some of the things we did this weekend. The others things were work related, too. With splashing in the pool and eating-- sprinkled into the routine! How about you-- did you have a relaxing 4th of July Holiday OR a Working Holiday? Maybe you balanced it all out with a little bit of both, like us?!
Til next time, Be Blessed!

Search me, God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
See if there is any offensive way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting.

Your shed did last a long time...I would have hate to see it go! Lots of great rusty metal.... My fourth was spent with Grands and daughters. We ate and enjoyed time together.. I have had Grands for two weeks now so I am so ready for a break..:) Lots of cleaning to do now! Have a great week. Blessings!
ohhh mine was definitely a working holiday weekend.... beautiful weather, and I got a lot done!

Looks like a lot of work! We worked a lot over the weekend too-- but no tearing down sheds!
Looks like that was a ton of work! Yes, there were great DIY ideas before Pinterest :)
Looks like hot work...but the new shed looks great! We relaxed the 4th...well as much as you can with a house full of family lol!
I'm guessing that there were a whole lot of good ol' memories made during the use of that old shed. I'm sure that the tear down was a little bitter sweet...
I keep wanting to make things out of pallets but the husband refuses, says it will just fall down one day. Fifteen years isn't so bad though! I do hear that it's a pain to pull all the nails out of the pallets though.
Ooooh, I love organizing projects! And how great that you found someone who could reuse your discards! I hope you'll share this outdoor post on The Maple Hill Hop!
Your new shed is so nice. You must have done a great job building the old shed, since it lasted so long. Your fireworks pictures are beautiful. laurie
