So this is where I sit when I’m blogging. Only facing the other direction… {smile}
That cable going around my door… yes, that is where I put it after the Wi-fi guy…LEFT LAST TIME. After we found out the dog chewed through the wire.
Do you back up your blog periodically? I don't know about other blog hosting platforms but on blogger it's not hard to do. Just tell yourself you need to do it. I'm not sure how often you should...some say weekly, some say monthly. I think it depends how regularly you post. There is a post here @ Funky Junk Interiors
I’m been catching up on some posts. Yes, I write posts from past weeks experiences. I suppose I could sit down and write a post everyday, like some; but, I don’t have a schedule that permits that. I have Littles here almost everyday. Today, just so happens- I have none! Once in a blue moon. So, I’m catching up on some writing. I won’t post them all at once. Sometimes, since there are no time constraints or deadlines I spread them out.
What I wanted to tell you though—is my computer is in my sewing/ craft room. That is the Viking, that I bought last summer, in that sewing table. I currently, do not have a window A/C in here—it quit. I’m hoping to purchase one at the end of season at a deeply discounted price! Anyway, it gets warm in there in the afternoons.
However, I’m thrilled that my youngest daughter gifted me with a ‘hand-me-down’ lap top! It’s small. It’s currently sitting on a child’s chair near an available plug. I sit in the floor, take a peak under the hood and tweak it…
It needs a new battery and a new plug wire—but for now it is working. I’ve been spending my evenings after the Littles leave, after supper, and after our swim; working on it. Removing programs, updating software, and getting it set up for me to use in other areas of my house!
First, I got an iPhone ,with WIFI capabilities,in September of last year.
Now, a laptop!
I’m so spoiled.
I don’t have a license or training for a laptop. Let me tell you—those things take practice learning to maneuver the cursor. It’s coming along. I’m excited, can you tell?
Do you have a desk top and a laptop? I wonder what some common reasons would be for owning both, in order to justify it. I guess if you travel you probably would have a laptop. If you live in a tiny space maybe you have a laptop and no desk top computer. I suppose—the term PC (personal computer) would actually cover laptop better, especially, if each head of household had their own. I am asking all this, sort of justifying why I would even need a laptop—the main reason, I mentioned above, temperature and comfort.
But then again-
I don’t suppose it really matters. It was a gift. Something I’m grateful for—and that just doesn’t need to be justified does it?
Til next time, Be Blessed!

Search me, God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
See if there is any offensive way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting.

Hi Pat.....
I have a desk top....but we rarely use it?? Crazy, I know. I mostly use my laptop at home and when we travel. I do have an iPad, but I don't do so well at blogging with it. In my opinion, a laptop is the way to go...at least it is for me. Enjoy the evening.
you are so right about a laptop taking time to get comfortable with - but you will in a short time.
We have a desktop that husband mostly uses, I own a laptop that I use some but I mostly use my ipad (probably too much) My phone is sort of smart but not as smart as an Iphone and I pretty much just use it for calling and texts and to check email if I am away from home.
Pat, you are so smart.... and I think I am too, to some extent. I've learned most of my computer 'tech' on my own with a bit of help from my son or husband. The rest is trial and error, which is the best way to learn, anyway, because we learn from our mistakes.
How awesome that you have a laptop! I had one. Really it was Mr. T's because mine broke. (cue crying) and I used his when I first started teaching my classes. He surprised me with a desktop where all the works are included in the monitor - I'm sure there is an official name for this - that he found in the bargain bin and a keyboard. It is much easier to use for the classes.
I love the portability of the laptop, but the larger screen for the desktop. For my classes it's great. The laptop has been wonderful when we are on the move.
Good for you! Ann
We used to have a desktop but it died. While we still had the desktop, I bought my laptop because I was on the road frequently enough to warrant it. Don would get on my laptop occasionally and do his thing. But this became a problem, because he had nothing to work with when I was on the road. So...eventually, I bought a new laptop and he got my old one. Two laptops. No desktop.

so funny--my friend just told me yesterday I need a desktop. Apparently she has no idea how many hours I spend on the computer.... some days it is upwards of 8 hours. I can't imagine sitting at a desk all that time. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my laptop. I really was shocked she even suggested a desktop. I enjoy sitting on the couch with the critters by my side, typing away. NO desktop for me, ever again.
have a great week Patricia!

I have a desktop in my office for my business work only and for our financial stuff.
I have my laptop for everything else - I sit in the front room and work on my blog. I read everyone else's blogs and do facebook and emails. When we go to the lakehouse I take my laptop with me. I use the laptop way more than I ever use the desktop.
