(iphone picture---from my car!)
Wednesday morning I was coming back from town and saw some big (what I call big) flowers. I was traveling down the JCT at highway speeds—I was able to see the detail on these flowers enough to recognize color and form—So they were big! I saw 3 small patches of them—and turned around to get a picture. Maybe you might recognize them—I have not idea what they are! But very pretty in the field near the wet lands between the actual lake and highway!
We’ve had some form of rain everyday this week—soft rain, heavy rain, rain with rolling thunder…rain with lighting and wind…
(again iphone picture: this time taken through the bathroom screen…the “grid” pattern is the screen…NOT YOUR VISION!)
I have gotten some laundry done but I’ve hung it ALL up in the laundry room on my retractable line. Gosh! I love that thing. Easy to pull out and easy to put away-- Our laundry room is an old screened in porch and there is a ceiling fan; so the clothes have dried pretty quickly. The ceiling fan runs most days in there—so drying the clothes is relatively cost free; just like hanging them outside!
It’s raining right now. There is a soft thunder in the distance. It’s the perfect summer storm—cooler temps and all! Not able to get much done outside.
A beautiful rainy day to get cracking and clean up what is SUPPOSED TO BE my sewing/craft/computer ROOM! yes, I am NOT showing it to you …not because I’m proud. But because it needs to be addressed. It is the worst room in the house…it’s a vicious cycle. I Add to and take away—putter around. But never seriously.
After 2 weeks of taking meds, eating better and exercising—I finally feel well enough to tackle it a little bit more whole-heartedly!
*** after writing this much of this post—Our internet went down. It was out for about 36 hrs. Very frustrating. I had to call the Wi-fi company and was put on a list. They’d be here ‘when they could ‘…which ended up being late afternoon today. Like I said, “we’ve had lots of rain” So I didn’t want to be impatient. Come to find out—they had to run a new cable; the one that was out there had been CHEWED through.
Not sure who the culprit was – Buster is no longer the only Dog on the property. So I wasn’t letting him take the blame for it. But…it very well, COULD HAVE BEEN HIM.
I’ll tell you …ALL I COULD THINK ABOUT while the internet was down, Was my sewing/crafting/computer room. I was mortified of the service guy seeing it. I did make a little bit of head-way in there. But I’m still working on it. He didn’t even pay attention; he was mainly outside the 1/2 hour he was here.
I began to wonder-- ‘WHAT DID WE DO BEFORE THE INTERNET?’ I know none of the rooms in my house looked awful…
I did NOT have a computer room.
I did Not have 4 acres, chickens and a garden.
My HOUSE was clean.
Before the internet--- I WAS PROBABLY AWESOME and had lots of energy.
I laughed because the ‘service man’ was all of 22 years old. I asked him, "I wonder what we did before the internet?" His answer was—"I don’t know."
I agreed with him. He probably doesn’t know.
Then he told me, “that we didn’t even get internet until I was 16. I mean we had had dial up…but it was so slow, I didn’t want to use it.”
I laughed at him. I said, “yeah. I remember when DIAL UP meant we had AND call someone actually talk to a live person.”
It’s been a crazy couple of days.
Just a note to let you know-- I'm going back to truncating my my posts. I know you understand, thanks.
Til next time, Be Blessed!

You are soooo fun! I love your posts!!!!!!!!!!!
Had to laugh. Yes, I believe the internet can rob our time, but yet at the same time, offers a great source of information. Crazy, right? I was in high school when computers came out, and that did not even include the internet. We learned to write computer programs in school, had a dial phone (no buttons), and no cell phones. Now, I don't even have a land line.
hahaha before the internet, I was younger, thinner, and my house was a LOT cleaner. but I think I'm smarter now, thank you Google!
happy to hear you're feeling a little better.

I was probably awesome before the internet too! Lol! My kids don't ever remember NOT having the internet, tivo, cell phones, etc. I totally remember the day we got our first computer and oh how I would have loved having tivo when I was younger. I remember rushing home to catch an episode of Friends or Seinfeld when I forgot to set the VCR. Ha!
Glad you are getting nice rain and glad you are feeling better. Keep up the good work.
I agree that blogging and internet can rob us of some valuable time, but time saving in other ways such as research. That is life and progress.
