It’s a new week and a new month—I’ve got things that I want to get done before the Fall. Yes! Fall. I’m not ready for it yet. We’ve had such an uncommon summer; with rainy days, weeks even! We’ve had cool temps. So much so, that I’ve had the A/C off for days at a time during July! I’m not complaining. I truly don’t mind the heat—but it just seems like this season has passed too quickly.
I like summer.
I’m making a list for the month –writing it down and keeping it handy. I’m going to see what I can get done. I get lazy with my list making. In fact, I think I’m quite double minded about lists. On the one hand I think; it limits the freedom of creativity and doing those things that pop up. On the other—it steers me and keeps me from flitting around like a butterfly; in search of the sweetest nectar!
I admit. I’m flighty like that.
I found this little flower in the bar ditch outside our fence-- I thought it looked a lot like Petunia; but the flower is much smaller. I looked it up and I’m wondering…Is this Ruellia? I’m not sure. But it’s pretty. I thought, if it is so hardy and can grow near the road in a dry climate—maybe digging it up and planting it in my flower beds might be a good idea. It would grow with hardly any help from me and I could see it more often.
I can’t remember why I was out in the bar-ditch (with Ruellia?).
Besides making list: I’m taking some time to be a little more contemplative—thinking a little bit more about personal matters; health, home, and hospitality (family). I’m spending more time in prayer— I don’t believe it is right to ask for more, without the gratefulness and gratitude for what I’ve already been given.
God has blessed me with much.
~~Passage I’m studying this week: Paul’s Sermon on Mars Hill
How are you getting on this late in summer? Winding down? Getting ready for back to school? Making a list? Taking time to show gratitude? Tell me, I’d love to know.
To get an idea of what might be on my list: you can read here (more painting) and here
Til next time, Be Blessed!

The God who made the world and all things in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands; 25 nor is He served by human hands,as though He needed anything, since He Himself gives to all people life and breath and all things; 26 and He made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their habitation, 27 that they would seek God, if perhaps they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us; 28 for in Him we live and move and[b]exist,

I'm an obsessive list maker, otherwise, I'd never accomplish anything! Our summer has been busy but in the best way. Life is good:)
Thanks for the reminder Pat. It's been a while since I've posted a gratitude list.
We've been blessed with a cooler summer, too! LOVE IT. :)
This summer has sped by. I'm not a list maker and I don't stop often enough to reflect on how blessed I am in my life. You've reminded me to do that and I will. Hope you are doing well. Ann
Hi Pat ... yes, it has been a busy, seemingly short, but hot summer. We have finished a few projects but not as many as I would have wanted. At our age, I guess we are blessed to still be able to do as much as we have.
Be Blessed.

It has been such an unusual Summer....I hope this doesn't mean that we will have Summer weather in the Fall... We must not live very far apart. Are you in East Texas too??
have a Blessed day!!
We have had such an unusual Summer.....Hope this doesn't mean that Hot temps are going to be showing up in the Fall..... We must live near each other. Do you live in East Texas?

I am hearing people talking of fall...but it's been such a lovely summer here this year, that I just want to enjoy it as long as I can!
I am much like you Pat...I am not ready for Summer to be over...way to much still to accomplish.. I have been doing some home canning the past days. Green beans, salsa, tomatoes. Also getting ready to extend my flower garden this Fall...preparing for that.. I love the study of the Word! You picked a good area to read and study in the book of Acts. Paul was bold for the Lord! He had a Spiritual Zeal.. Have a great day and Blessings!
