:: Catching up on Some Reading-

Kindle Box-Home Doc

About 2 years ago, I was gifted, by my youngest son; a Kindle Paperwhite.  This is not something I wanted or asked for—it isn’t anything I THOUGHT I’d EVER want.  But, I’ve come to enjoy it; and after owning it for 2 years—I discovered something about it LAST WEEK!

Something I didn’t know.
I can read PDF files from it!!
Seriously, I DID NOT KNOW THIS.
Do you know what this means?
Basically, it means I have a folder of un-read documents on my desktop—waiting to be read!
Kindle pouch 2
I figured this out after I downloaded a free book last week—in pdf format.  I was quite disappointed because I hadn’t had time to sit and read it AT.THE. COMPUTER.  (my free laptop died, another story for another day)

But, I soooo wanted to read it.  I started doing a little bit of research and GOOGLED IT…  and low and behold, all I had to do was plug my KINDLE into my computer and move the file over!   Is this some secret?  No.

I just never thought of checking it out until now.

One thing, when reading PDF files from your Kindle Paperwhite… the font can not be SET.  You have to use your fingers to enlarge the text; and it IS A BIT FIDDLY.  I found that turning my Kindle to LANDSCAPE in the settings helped though it shortened the page link and took more swipes with the finger to finish the page. Over all—it beats having unread works on my PC –to be read later!

I’ve included a list of some of the PDF files I’m reading. Some are short, some are long; there are books for the home, improving skills, Spiritual encouragement, and something for the kiddos!  Some are free!  I don’t download any books that aren’t free. ;)

This is my short list:

  • Giving God the Worst of Me by: Dana K. White of A Slob Comes Clean
  • Four Basic Steps to Budgeting by: Jessi Fearon
  • 31 days to a Heart of Hospitality by: Edie Wadsworth (no longer free) I’m just getting around to reading it, because well,
  • slipcover_ebook  @  pinkandpolkadot.net (no longer free)
  • Jimmy the Racing Frog

  • SHORT STORY WRITING by:  Charles Raymond Barrett, Ph.B. c. 1898 / 1900  (you may search for this on line, but I can’t vouch for any link, I’m not sure where I got this one.)

I have some reading to catch up on, now if you’ll excuse me.
‘Til next time, Be Blessed!

I have a Google Nexus tablet that I thought I'd never want and but I love it. Our library has free e-books you can "check out" and there are lots of free book sites out there too.

Good for you for figuring that out! I have never used a Kindle and I am so un-techy that it isn't funny. Happy reading to you! xo Diana

I love it when something like that happens.... seems like it happens to me a lot, but for the life of me I can't think of a single incident at this moment. I'm sure it will hit me later. (jamie is usually the one that fills me in)

so happy you figured it out. LOVE technology!
