Here it is the last day of August, the last K.o.C (Kernals of Corn) I put up was exactly a month ago. I created K.o.C as recap kind of post—Or, an “Oh By the way… this or that happened.” Sometimes, I’ll write about things I’ve read, recipes, projects; but lately it’s really, just been, “Oh, by the way…”
HIS:
We’ve had a month of appointments for the Honey. He’s met with two new doctors; a specialist and a general practice doctor. He has insurance now and we’re going private sector for medical now, instead of the V.A. His meds were changed back in July; and I’ve seen a marked improvement in his over-all energy and well being.
HERS:
For me, unless you’ve been under a rock or …where-ever, I’m going to school! I woke up one day and decided I was going to take the TSI (Texas Success Initiative) at the local community college and registered for classes. I have thought about it for a long time; I finally did it. The semester started last week. Right now… I’m beside myself.
CRAFTING:
I’ve had a craft/ art bug, this summer. I still draw something, though not everyday; like I did with the ICADs- 2015. For school I made a book bag, (messenger style); and this week, I made a cover for my English Book. *edited to say: I sewed this up from drop cloth material. Very durable, yet soft! I love it.
My thinking on this is to keep it preserved, it is a soft bound book, I would like for it to stay in relatively good shape. I’m not sure if I’ll sell it, like some students do when the semester is over, because it is an excellent resource!
I won some really cute stationary earlier in the year from Lydia’s Post… I kept this book mark and am using it in my English/Comp book. I like seeing it when I open my book. I use it as I’m reading to help stay on the line, I probably need my eyes checked again; and the print is kind of small!
EXERCISE:
Today, I swam after almost 2 weeks of NOT swimming. I just wanted to get into that water after being outside. It’s still pretty warm here. I had a stressful morning, came home hung out the laundry and then went for a swim! It felt good to exercise. It felt good to be in the water. I’m going to miss swimming. I’m thinking after we shut the pool down, I’ll go back to a walking routine. That’s my plan anyway.
I always have plans, but when and how I get them done is another story!
‘Til next time, be blessed.
And let us not be weary in well doing; for in due season, we shall reap if we faint not. ~ Galatians 6:9

I hope school is going well and glad to hear your husband is feeling better.
Enjoyed this post! You are busy right now and I look forward to reading more about your time in school.
I know you will love being back in school! I went back when I was 38 and finally got my Masters as a 50 year old! I love learning and consider those some of the best years of my life, also the busiest, craziest, most rewarding. 😉 Stand strong, Lady, and enjoy.
How fun you are in school. Love the book cover. I can't get my kids to make them like that anymore.
I'm happy the honey is going to get everything ironed out now that he has insurance.
swimming... gee I can't remember the last time I was in a pool. I've been on a "better plan for me" for almost 3 months. Trying to eat better, as a lifestyle change, not anything like being on a diet. I'm down almost 11 pounds, which puts me almost what I was 2 years ago before my heart incident. Hoping to be down 15 more by the end of the year. whoa! that sounds like a GOAL. I never set goals...

Love these Kernals.
Making plans and not following through with them is something I am proficient in. Exercising is something I'm really bad at doing :)
So glad your husband is feeling better, Pat. He's in my thoughts and prayers. I'm so impressed that you're back in school! That's a brave and exciting thing to do! You go, girl!
