Oma Goes to College or A Messenger Bag

It’s turned cool outside, its thundering and we may get rain—I’ve got the windows open for the second time in 4 days.
I love days like this. Typically, I’d be sleeping in on a day like today—but I have Liam this morning, the second day of school.  I rode with my daughter to take the boys and then we stopped at the bakery on the way home, for deli meat and kolaches; after that a quick stop at Wal-mart for meter strips, fruit for my snacks and smoothies. I also bought a cheap notebook and new ink pens for school. I like Paper Mate in black ink—our Wal-mart doen’t have them! Why not?  I don’t know!!!
I’m starting my English class this evening. I’ve looked and besides the books for class I’m not sure what I’ll be needing. The notebook is a spiral for 3 subject and it has pockets; it should be fine for what I need.  Most of the work that is to be turned in for English needs to be typed and printed.  But I like have a notebook.  I have to jot down everything—my memory is out of practice!
I’ve made a list of things to do this week—trying to stay focused I don’t want to be the forgetful old lady in class that can’t find her back-side with both hands…. if you know what I mean. One of the things on my list was to make a bag for school.

A messenger bag. It cost nothing but a little time.  Recycled jeans, vintage pillow slip and some painter’s drop cloth for the strap. It’s from my iphone…sorry it’s blurry. I just made it today!
It’s a wonder I ever got anything done with my kids home all the time.  I was 20 years younger then.  Grand kids wear me out!  All I want to do in the evening when they’re not here is sit and vegetate.
I hope I don’t fall asleep in class. That would be terrible.
I’m glad I made the list and got this one thing done!  When I don’t have to hang onto information I can keep my mind opened up for other things, like blogging! ha!
‘Til next time, blessings to ya!

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of Knowledge; but fools despise wisdom and instruction.  Proverbs 1:7

Hi Patrica, by the time you read this you will have already started class. I know that you are going to love it. I do know what you mean about grand-kids wearing you out. When I go to my daughter's house I sleep like a log and almost always go to bed much earlier than when I'm at home. Usually when I sleep in a different bed than my own, I never sleep well . . . but the exhaustion of keeping up with youngsters takes all that away, LOL.
