I'm BaaaaAAAAccckkk!

Well, here I am-- it's been a handful of months without the internet--- and what have we been doing?

There is just too much---
I'll try and sum it up with a 'Top-Ten'

You know you're living without the internet when...

  •  you take up buying Magazines at the grocery store check out AGAIN...just so you can feast your eyes on some else's living space, creative ideas, and new recipes of black beans!
  • you begin keeping the dictionary on the end table beside your chair again--- 'cause you can't GOOGLE IT!
  • you get excited to have gotten enough dirt from the compost bin to fill 4 fairly DEEP holes in the yard the dogs have dug over the summer!...AND IMMEDIATELY... YOU WANT TO TELL SOMEONE! (anyone that will listen)

  • you spend your spare time in the pool to cool off (because living in TEXAS without A/C in the summer is JUST crazy!)...But we're paying down debt and saving for new internet service!

(Thanks to our son in law for his redneck interpretation---no offense to all you rednecks out there and don't be jealous...it's no fun swimming alone

  • you become the household champion of SKIP-BO-- beating out your only opponent -your spouse of 27 years!

  • you finally decide YOU MUST figure out if those are really Black Walnuts in your back yard every fall--by cracking one open since you never have gotten around to 'GOOGLING' it WHILE YOU HAD THE CHANCE! (we've only lived here 14 -1/2 years...it's about time...and yes! they are black walnuts)
HAVE YOU EVER HEARD THE PHRASE....'TOUGH NUT TO CRACK'? Well, now I know where it originated... the black walnut folks!  I have it on good authority that the squirrels in our yard have mighty chompers too, as we've found some of these nuts cracked wide open...which brings whole new meaning to 'don't feed the wild animals'

  • you finally have time to paint the crown molding and add board and batten style trim in the living room. (pictures coming soon.)

  • you no longer require MAPQuest or GPS to find your way to here...

In one of THREE SURROUNDING COUNTIES!
(in case you've forgotten both Grands we were expecting were 'high risk' ...and they were born 3 counties apart...well, it was pretty intense 'round here for a few months!)

  • you and hubby, on a whim, go to Choctaw, OK and gamble for the first time EVER!(...not my cup o'tea...) don't see what all the fuss is about...I have plenty of other addictions I could throw my money away on...Did I mention I'm living without internet at this point?
  • you plug in the NEWLY INHERITED Magnovox Stereo and it works! so now you listen every day! Hmmm...what's a lovely piece of furniture like this doing in my dining room?
AND FINALLY...

you know you're living with out the internet when...

  • YOU HAVE TO DUST OFF YOUR COMPUTER BEFORE THE INSTALLATION REP COMES TO HOOK UP THE NEW SERVICE...(i'll spare you the pictures...it was sad, really.) OH,... and your pc won't BOOT UP  when he finally gets it installed!

(So, now you know I didn't dust in this room for what?!!! 5 months you say?....

Gosh ! ....THAT IS LIKE ETERNITY IN INTERNET YEARS!

God Bless you
and
Thanks for being here....when I got back.

I missed y'all!

Totally thrilled that you are back. I do wonder what it was like for you without the internet. Sometimes I think it might be liberating. Did you REALLY miss us?

I don't think I could make it through five months of no internet. We were down one day when the landscapers cut our cable and it felt like withdraw. LOL! Missed you and really enjoyed this post. Very funny!

Ha ha , Kolein was asking me about you too...I was just about ready to go find you! We were worried about those babies and we want pics! Now, you should come to the Mabank Tour of Homes, so we can meet in person. My sister and I are doing the school board room...we are scared to throw in too much junk, but there will be a little, lol. I don't think they are ready for the whole hog! Again, so glad you are back! Lezlee
