:: CROW-chet ::

This year I've seen CROWS in all sorts of decorating themes.
Mostly,
I've been seeing crows everywhere in FALL decorating.

I, for some reason, really  like them.

Having been puny most of the week and no obligations this weekend
...I "took to the hook" and created this guy.
No pattern... I was just 'winging' it. :)

 The problem is-HE IS ALL BLACK. So it was hard to see some of my stitches. Note to self--get eyes examined soon.
 Getting a late start on the Fall decorations. ...and No. It's not because I've been busy dusting! (as you can see) I tried him out on my mantel/shelf in the living room. He is hard to see.  Can you see his wire feet, below in the next picture?

 Tried him out on the front porch...with my newly acquired black metal basket and pumpkin, (pumpkin from last year)...I copied the basket idea from breida with a b (she's new, go over and say 'hi')
 Because it was hard to see This Old Crow's detail;
 I took a piece of white chalk and rubbed it on some of the more prominent edges...giving him highlights! Funny how it looks like dust...but; I assure you it's not, it's chalk.

Because I'm not going for 'SCARY'...but just a touch of Fall indoors... I'll show you- I dusted the shelf!  Some how trying to pass off the dust as part of the ambiance of the season---just doesn't fly here!
(where you can look at my dust, just don't write your name in it!!!)

P.S.  ***editing to say:  The Honey thought all weekend I was crocheting socks.  I meant to tell y'all that...cause he cracked me up!  I knew y'all would think it was funny too.

Thou will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on Thee;
because he trusts in Thee.

I love that! The wing is fantastic with that circular detail in it. I think they look great. If you ever want to write down the pattern, consider me as a person who would LOVE to own it!

I'm loving your crow. He has wonderful personality. The chalk to bring out the details was a great idea. As for dusting, I'm right there with you. I don't even seem to notice it, in my home, or anyone else's. Let's just think of it as "Patina", that's right, "Patina". I keep telling myself that.

He's wonderful! I wish I could just whip up a crochet design like that. He looks great in each spot.

You have talent! You just winged it? I'm impressed. The wire feet are genius and the whole thing complete with basket make a nice fall statement. Who needs scary when you have beauty and talent?!

I'm sorry to hear that you've been "puny". Wow! You are very creative lady! I love your crow, he's adorable, the most adorable one I've seen yet! It's fun to create when you are just lying around, isn't it.
Have a good day and please get to feeling better. Hugs, Cindy

Love your sock!!! How funny! The crochet crow is delightful...and with no pattern. Of course, I couldn't have done it with a pattern! He looks at home on your mantel. Great job!

You better get cracking on those black socks! I think your crow turned out quite well, especially considering you "winged" it! Now. You have the bird shape down. Expand to Turkeys, chickens and roosters! You know how people go for those!!!

I saw a beautiful Rooster lamp at a thrift today and thought of you. 100$!!!! Whaaa? What kind of thrift is that? A fancy one and one who knew the value of the lamp. It was very special and beautiful - and I'm not a rooster gal!

Hope you are feeling better!

Impressive! I've noticed the crows this year, too - but never thought of making one. Your crocheted one is so clever! And fake dust!!! The dust at my house is the real deal authentic stuff, though. :)

Wow, that's pretty awesome for just winging it! I just can't get the hang of crochet.

I LOVE your crow! So cute. I cannot believe you just came up with that on your own - very nice. Your Fall decor is super cute too. And yeah - I hate dusting too.

I love your little crow! He's adorable! I'm your newest Pinterest and Facebook follower. Thanks so much for stopping by Posed Perfection and leaving me a sweet comment about the candy corn treat pockets. I hope you'll visit again and maybe even follow me back. Have a great week!
Blessings,

Oh my gosh - your crowchet is fabulous!! He is darling and you did an amazing job on the fly! I agree, crocheting with black is getting a bit tricky. Even with great light. Sigh. Well, your pattern making skills are still perfect even if your eyes aren't. :)

Crow-chet, winging it, chalk-- not dust... All very funny! And a very cool crow!
