:: In and Of the Garden::

The past week was sprinkled with new plantings and RAIN!  So everything is greening up. I don’t know what the difference is---between water from the hose and water from the sky…but MAN! Even after taking my sweet time of getting things planted, because let’s face it we had cold weather up until the very end of April---The garden is thriving!  (LONGEST SENTENCE EVER!)

Big Bertha Sweet Peppers~Bell Pepper~

I also have bell pepper planted in the wheel barrow on the other side of the house.

tomatoes

My newest planter—half a barrel, dug into the ground filled with woody twigs at the bottom and rich composted dirt on the top. I created this Sunday a week ago and am just now blogging it.   The Tomato on the right is doing pretty well—not the one of the left.  A HEN sat on it~ That’s why the cage is in there to keep the hens out!

Beautiful Flowers collage

The flowers are from my daughters—an orchid ORCHID…AND Yellow Roses. Don’t know a thing about orchids am calling the florist today to find out what to do with it.

Iago Rooster

My new ROOSTER!  It’s yard art. I put him in the ‘stacked pots’ bed; and it is ‘thriving’ too! I’ve always wanted one of these!

I was going to name him “Iago” after the parrot from the cartoon Aladdin; I’ve changed his name

Just plain and simply—

Art.

That’s how my garden is growing for now—I’ve heard we have a cold front coming this week— and that we may need FIREWOOD…SERIOUSLY!?!?  We’ll see how it continues to grow~!

It was so humid this morning—and the bottom fell out just a while ago and brought some relief. Hope your garden is growing, thriving and drinking in lots of rain and sunshine!  Happy planting!

Til next time, Be Blessed!

Rain water has nitrogen in it that is created by the lightning. It is amazing how green the grass and gardens can get from rain water. I do love that new Rooster!!! We have a cold front coming in as well.....in the upper 70's.

I have a rain barrel that is FINALLY getting some rain. I've read that plants don't need as much water when they get rain water. I know it won't last very long, but I like using it when I have some.
I love that a chicken sat on one of your tomato plants. I just find that funny (sorry!). My cats eat the pansies when they are blooming and avoid the rest. Well, Millie still hunts and finds the tallest blade of grass to nibble one.

Isn't the rain lovely? I opened the window for a while and the kitties and I napped listening to the rain and enjoying the fresh smell.

I love all that whimsy in your gardens, Pat.

I too have wondered like you. Whatever way we pour water for the plants they grow slow, but if there is a little shower of rain all the plants get up with great enthusiasm.
Your garden looks great with many kinds of plants! Your new rooster also looks good!

I really love the rooster! We're expected to get some cooler weather too but hopefully not fire wood cold!

Your garden looks great! Laughing at the picture in my head of the hen in your tomato plants. Funny! Mr. Art is adorable. :)
Crazy, crazy weather for sure! It was so warm and humid yesterday then it poured buckets last night (yay!), and this morning it is down-right chilly. I'm not complaining! Summer will be here soon enough! Have a great week!

You have a lot of growing going on. Good for you.
You should have enough to feed you well this summer.
