~ Notes on the Fridge~

Prayer Bear

To My Grown Up Kids:
I just wanted to remind you, because you’re parents now—
your children are growing so quickly; and a time is coming very soon, that they will begin to present you with little gifts, wild flowers and tokens of appreciation.  They want to give you something special;  they’ve saved all the money, in their little world, to buy you that perfect little something.

Receive it graciously.

Don’t laugh out loud, when you see it.

Don’t let them see one critical thought cross your face.
You do not get a DO-OVER on first impressions. It’s ok if you do not collect Teddy Bears, Geese, or electronic coin sorters.

Let your words be – grateful and attentive to the giver.  With a genuine heart they have chosen this perfect gift for you

Smile and say Thank you.

In doing so, you’ve not only kept your son’s heart; but you’ve saved yourself years of anguish and feeling guilty – because of pride and one slip of the tongue.

Otherwise- You will forever cherish the Son; and the Prayer Bear that replaced the Abstinence Bear—humbly acknowledging you need help in both areas.

Don’t forget:  God’s Grace abounds much more than all our sin!
Love, Mom

************************************

Did you leave notes on the fridge in your home?  Say,for instance, you were going out; and everyone else was asleep-- You don’t want to wake anyone, so you left a note on the fridge?

A phone message, Don’t forget…Soccer sign-ups are this week.

Maybe, it was a note on the fridge reminding everyone NOT TO EAT THAT SPECIAL Lemon pie for Dad’s birthday dinner…sitting on the second shelf INSIDE THE FRIDGE.

Perhaps a reminder to pick up milk from the store, not to forget your lunch money on the table “there’s no bread for a sandwich, I left lunch money on the table for the whole week” …and the always important ‘feed the dog’ or ‘take out the trash’- DON’T FORGET… LOVE, MOM- kind of notes.

My mom left notes on the fridge for us; not just us, the milk man too.  The phone was right there. The paper and pencil or pens were in a jar, so handy…write the note and stick it under a magnet.  Our fridge was our message center!

That’s what  A Note on the Fridge is about for me.  Messages for my kids. Some read them.  I don’t know if they all will. I don’t know if these messages will apply to you.  You may get it—you may not. But I’m inviting you to come along on occasion and read the notes that have been left, on the fridge.

Til next time, Be Blessed!

and He made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their habitation, that they would seek God, if perhaps they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us; for in Him we live and move and exist,

So sweet. I still leave my kids notes, even tho they are grown. I leave them on their laptops or on their dresser, usually when I'm leaving to go out of town. .... Just a little note, I love you, be safe. see you soon. If I forget, they ask me when I get back home, "where was my note?"

Good Morning, Pat.
Great post.....great message here.
I still leave notes.....ever chance I get. My favorite kind of note is the one that I sometimes place in lunch boxes! I only wish that there could be a camera to capture the joy on their faces when reading the notes. Hope your day is filled with joy.

jamie inscribed my chalkboard when it was new--she wasn't even married yet. I still have not erased it. I write my notes all around it, but that little I Love You is right there!!

I love notes of all kinds
