:: Pallet Shed Residue--

We are still in the tearing down process of removing the pallet shed.(read here) I know you’d think it would be done and over with. Not with us.
Our schedule with the kids everyday and regular household duties—just hasn’t permitted us long stretches of time to knock that shed OUT!
Once it’s done. The clean up around the old barn will begin; and hopefully things will start to shape up out there. Right now, the back yard—looks DISATEROUS!

Other projects in the yard include the ongoing building of the Tiny House here.

Here are a couple of things that have changed with the shed tear down.

fluffing the coop

These Plastic molded, NOT MOLD-Y … flowers came off the old shed wall. They’ve been there for.EV.ER!!! I rummaged through my Krylon paint cans and found some orange and some yellow.  I also found a cheap can of green…from my favorite place, Dollar General…and I shot some new paint on them and put them on the outside of the chicken coop!

For the chickens.   It’s since been weed-whacked out there…this is a picture I took a couple of weeks ago.  I also found some old license plates and hung them on the fence too(not pictured) : just because it’s artsy!  I know my hens appreciate it.  Mainly because they made quite a commotion when I was out there putting them on the fence.  Squawk!  squawk! squawk!

They couldn’t stop squawking about the beautiful flowers.

I’m hoping next year to have some Morning Glories planted out there to vine up and over the shed for more shade. That is, if I can keep them from digging them up! You can’t see the Fig tree now since the new shed has been brought in; it usually has figs on this time of year—I noticed some the other day. But they are so tiny and nowhere near ready to harvest!

The other thing—salvaging some of the shed wood. This is residue from what I call THE TEAR DOWN!

piles of pallet wood

We’ve been taking it nice and slow on the tear down—in order to salvage some of the better wood.  I hate to see all that wood just get burned up. I’m not for sure what projects we’ll do with this…but y’all will be the first to see it…WHATEVER IT IS!

The weather is starting to warm back up—after almost a week of cooler temps.  I just take it one day at time…drink lots of water… working on what ever catches my eye at the moment or check my list for things to do;  and then splash around in the pool a bit to relax!

I used to feel like there was such an urgency to get things done. But the truth is…there really is no other place I’d rather be than right here in my home.  We don’t travel much—or even venture very far from home. We see our kids and on occasion my husbands family – we shop locally as much as possible.  If I were to really hustle and get ALL MY PROJECTS DONE…

Go ahead.
I’ll wait…
until you’ve dried your eyes from laughing so hard!

As I was saying, IF I were to get all my projects done that I’d like to see to completion,
What would I do after that? Really?

******************************************************************************* I mentioned last time that I was studying the passage seen below--  this part keeps coming into my mind…
and He made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their habitation,
There is a reason, I’d rather be here than any place else, RIGHT NOW… because I truly believe this is my appointed time and place.  I no longer have a sense of urgency when it comes to matters of sheds, barns, pallets, etc.; rather than urgency, I have peace. :)

Til next time, Be Blessed!

Save that wood -- it looks nice! We're using spare pallet parts for little tables and shelves in our yard. I saw a design show where a woman pieced it together on a wall and it looked great!

I agree-- that wood will come in handy sooner or later. There will always be MORE projects! Keeps us going, right?

Glad you are saving some of that wood...those pieces look like "project" material to me...lol I hear you, I am trying to accomplish several things but it seems the Grands and everyday must do's get in the way...got go with the flow and enjoy....do what you can..I am trying to convince myself of that anyway...lol Blessings!

ohhh, that wood looks fabulous! I just saw a show on hgtv where they put stuff like that on the ceiling... I don't think it matched the couple or the house, but I liked the look of the wood. Build something cool, like a trunk for the porch or something. :)

It just takes time to do all the things we would like to do. The wood looks nice and I see many projects ahead in using this wood. Don't worry....it will all get done...sooner or later...

Well Pat, you seem to be making progress ... fast or not ... it will get done. Yes, save as much old wood as you can. Always a use for it. Love your chicken coop too.
Take care.
