After Easter and On A Monday-

We usually start off the week bright and early!  Our oldest daughter drops her children off on the way to work… around 7-ish and I hit the floor running.

Today was a little bit slower. I had a text on my phone when I got up today; she was telling me I wouldn’t have the kids.  I was still planning on having Easton—His momma took The Honey for his labs in Palestine; getting ready for his check up on Friday.  She is going back to school to finish out her degree and becoming an RN—so she and her dad stopped off at the U.T. campus there—she talked to a counselor and picked up some schedules and pre-requisite forms.  I’m glad she is finishing up—it is going to be hard the next 2 1/2 years—but I’m very proud of her for doing it.  Having her and her family living here on our property will be good too, I will be able to continue helping with the boys… including the new baby. ;)

While Honey was gone —I took Easton and we went to the FEED STORE—for dog food and chicken feed.  Came home –unloaded.  We let the chickens out and checked for eggs, then he and I walked around the yard… picking up and dumping out any standing water that would be a breeding ground for mosquitoes.

That’s important this time of year!

easter greetings

On Sunday, All the kids were here yesterday for the Easter activities.   The Newlyweds, the girls and their families, our oldest son and family; and also My Dad, youngest brother and his boys!  A full house!  We started out with rain early in the morning before sun up—I thought an egg hunt would be a wash out… but no.

The rain stopped long enough for the guys to hide them and the kids to hunt them… and then back to drizzling. rain boots egg hunt

I think it was our first ever—RAIN BOOTS AND EGG HUNT !

It was pretty successful.

I hope your week is off to a good start and Most of all—you had time doing something you love with the people you love.  I also hope you had time to reflect and think on Christ!

‘Til next time-

Have a blessed week!

Hi Patricia, Short and sweet, that's what I would call this post. I like what you said about, "time to reflect and think on Christ". When I was a little girl, by Dad had this talk with me. He told me how people put so much importance on Christmas, but that Good Friday and Easter were the days that we should hold up as our highest and most important holidays. He told me how Christ's birth was very important, but that it was just the beginning of what the Lord came to do and that the cross was the entire reason for His birth. What a gift . . . what a price . . . buying my sins with His perfect sinless life. I've never forgotten my Dad's words and I will never take His gift for granted. Hallelujah!

Happy Easter Pat. My favorite holiday for the reasons Connie's dad gave. It's important. Glad you had your family around and were able to hunt eggs outside.

I miss watching little ones hunt for eggs! My neighbor said she wasn't giving up so when her college aged daughter said she didn't want to hunt for eggs anymore, my neighbor mentioned that some had money in them, sometimes up to $20! She hid them all over, up drain spouts, under plants, etc. on her wooded acreage. The poor kid was hunting for hours!

My kids are all grown, but they did make baskets this year. We decided to go to the zoo on Easter Sunday. It was not crowded, and the weather was beautiful. This week, we are getting rain and more storms.

We love rain boots around here too. Quinn wears them all the time. She even wears them when we are camping. Keeps her feet and socks clean.

Patricia, even a mundane Monday is an event for you! I enjoyed reading about it. I've got our new baby grandson today, so every two hours I have a moment or two. Reading your post was my lunchtime break. Love you...Blessings.

What a fun time with the kids- rain boots and all. It is sure a lot easier to run errands with only one kid in tow though, isn't it?
Tell me-Does chicken feed (mash) come in sewn bags anymore? I learned to make my clothes out of those bags (calico ones) and towels out of the sack cloth ones. xo Diana

I KNOW YOU MUST BE PROUD OF YOUR DAUGHTER FOR GOING BACK TO SCHOOL...IT'S A HARD THING TO DO WHEN YOU HAVE A FAMILY, BUT SHE WILL BE SO GLAD IN THE END...
