Attempting to Define My Blog-

Sarah at Modern Country Style
is having a Define Your Blog link party...

I thought it would be fun to define my blog.
But then I thought 'No. I've defined my blog already in my side bar'
So then I went and read my side bar 'about me' and said  "Well, no. Not really. That is more or less defining me."

Then I just sat here staring blankly at the blank screen.

What in the world?!!
How do I define MY  blog? ...
It's sort of like trying to explain Baseball to someone.  You kind of have to watch it -to get it...you know?

And then I thought 'NO. Baseball is more organized than I am!"
"It's more like watching a train wreck!" Seriously... How do you explain that?
(let's face it...YOU'D BE HARD PRESSED TO DEFINE MY BLOG TOO)

So I thought about all the things I do here at Corn in My Coffee-Pot... What do I write about?

Hmmm...
I write about  Attempting to Decorate...(in my own style of course)

I write about  Attempting to Garden... (in my own style ... )

I write about  Attempting  to Craft, Cook and Clean- up  this Empty Nest... and I do it all (ON A MICROSCOPIC BUDGET) along with My recently retired Honey ... by my side.
I'm attempting to blog about: doing things the cheapest way least expensive way possible.  I will show you both my successful projects and I hesitantly will show you my FAILED attempts.
Paint project FAIL.
I've recently turned the corner in my thinking about country life in the last year or so... but more so this year than ever before.
NOW I'm Attempting to Focus on:  HOMESTEADING;  Natural Health Alternatives; Gardening organically (as I learn about it); Re-purposing and Reusing with the resources I have on hand or where ever I can get them (without stealing it...LOL! )

.
Avocado Tree starters. OH, this so far has been successful!
(***edited to say, they all died! every last one of them; happened during The Honey's hospital stay that summer)

Re purposed Futon porch rail.
MOSTLY, I'm Attempting to Walk out My Own Salvation with Fear and Trembling:
I LOVE THE LORD GOD ALMIGHTY.
I know that He is my reason for Being--And by His Grace - Being a Found Sheep of His flock.
So EVERYTHING I do---I do for His Glory first.
I hope that when others come here ---they glean some kind of insight, encouragement or EVEN CONFIDENCE.  Best of all --my Readers (YOU) never fail to leave me with insight, encouragement and Confidence.
For that I'm GRATEFUL.

So long story short--
by definition--
Corn in My Coffee Pot means:
Doing things Differently
Seeing an opportunity to create, experiment or re-invent something-- with whatever means possible
and SEIZING THAT OPPORTUNITY...
and BLURTING IT OUT-LOUD, LIVE AND IN PERSON...
FOR ALL OF YOU SPECTATORS...Lord Willing.

FOR YOU...
It's kind of like the Monkey cage at the zoo...
You want to go there and check 'em out...
but you NE-VER, REALLY. KNOW. what's gonna be thrown at You!

As always-
God Bless You
and
Duck!

PS: Oh yeah,  Occasionally, there is a NON-SEQUITUR PHOTO to follow!

You did a great job of defining your style and purpose of your blog. I like the baseball analogy. So true! I think it's wonderful how you're repurposing and staying within a budget. Your organic garden sounds wonderful!
Take care!

Hi,
I am joining Sarah's lovely party from my vintage apartment in Chicago. So glad you joined, too.

Fondly,

ps. I like your phrase that you repeated ~ "in my own style". Being yourself in a blog is something that makes a blog real and unique.

To me, reading your blog is like sitting down with an old friend and chatting about what's going on. Don't change a thing. It's perfect as it is. Now my blog, it's like me, there is no style. lol

Love that you do things your way and are not afraid to admit when you fail. Blogging is not always pretty, right? I love it when my dining room table is covered in laundry except that one end where I'm creating my photo shoot! lol Avocado tree starters look very interesting!
