In Love with A kitchen!

A few weeks ago I did a post on hiding the trash. Which still IS NOT HIDDEN by the way!
I came across a blogger with a wonderful kitchen. She had lots of lovely ideas for hiding the essentials in her kitchen-- the trash, the coffee pot, and even the dishwasher!

While one of the things that caught my eye was her use of crates, crocks and boxes to hide things; I also liked the way she had things out in plain view and they were so beautiful!

I loved her dish washing liquid and hand soap dispenser

I knew I wanted this for my kitchen! So nostalgic. I like nostalgia; and I love the amber bottle the Ms.Butterworth's Syrup used to come in... I loved everything about it.

Well, then there was that day The Honey decided to take me on a road trip around our lake (not like it's really ours, it's just the lake we live near) ...we went to the Antique Malls on the other side . He was Woo-ing me... He knows how to get to me... ;)

We didn't have lots of money to spend...but I found this lovely... Isn't she great?!

I paid about $6 bucks for her!  I haven't shown her to you yet...cause she had to be fitted with her 'pumping action'!!!
Now, since finding this blog (which I love reading by the way) I've seen a plastic reproduction Ms.Butterworth's bottle WITH SYRUP at Dollar General. For $4 dollars!!!!  I was thinking ...seriously... of bringing her home and pouring all that syrup into another jar and using her for dish liquid. But I just don't know how she'd hold up over time--to all that squeezing!

oh! her kitchen is The Country Farm Home lovely!  You must go check it out!

I love that kitchen too, my mother in law had all her iron skillets on the wall and my grandma used to croquet hats and paint the Aunt Jemima Syrup bottles. I love that we share the same lake, we need to meet up before summer is gone!

I'm so far behind on your blog. I LOVE the improvement you made with your bedroom shelves.

Such a cute idea! I love amber bottles and am always saving all the little yeast jars to put tea lights in, but now I suddenly have a craving for pancakes... Take care!

Pat, you lucky thing, getting a good old Mrs. Butterworth's bottle. Who knew to save them when everything started going to plastic? I just saw a milk of magnesia bottle at a garage sale for $10 and it seemed pricey, but I should have bought it, it was really cool. Very nostalgic. Whodathunk back then that I'd be dying for a Milk of Magnesia or Mrs. Butterworth's bottle one day!? Thanks for coming by and taking the time to read my post about the Shadow of the Flag. You always have such sweet and thoughtful words to share. Thank you and Happy Independence Day.

I'm going to have to watch out for one of those during my next trip to the antique stores. That's a great idea. Everything is sold in plastic these days.

Glass is really becoming scarce. Not many things are still sold in glass jars or bottles. I like displaying the cute kitchen things, too! And covering up the not-so-cute ones with crates and things sounds like a good idea. I'll check out your link!

Glad you found the bottle you wanted they are becoming scarce. Six was not bad for it. I remember them from my grandmother's kitchen's.
