:: Statistically Speaking {the Blog Language} ::

Really, I don’t pay attention  put much stock into the numbers.
I get followers—and I try and follow YOU back.  I’ll be honest, I tend to visit around more with the ones that comment than the ones that just follow and lurk.

It’s not bad of me to say that, right?  I mean it’s true.

I know I get traffic here @ Corn…because, I admit, I check the stats periodically… especially this time of year.

I find it VERY interesting to see what the most viewed post is for the year.

Why?

Because it fascinates me what people read! I mean, I can’t help but wonder sometimes if it’s the same people that would stand around watching ‘high-rise’ be built … or paint dry… or a ball drop?

But no.

It is you my faithful readers, for the most part. I thank you for that!  For reading, no matter what I may throw at you!

And well, a few random ‘passers-by’ that discovered my blog while searching some obscure object online …only to discover, I really know nothing at all about Van Gogh and his artwork…

You may click here to read my most view post WRITTEN in 2013… I’m not sharing my most view posts EVER…because, it is the same from last year and you can read all about those HERE. (including top traffic sources for 2012)

My second most view post from 2013 is all wrapped-up in waiting for a new baby’s arrival and Me, trying to get out of dusting whenever I can.

My one attempt to make life in the kitchen a bit more SIMPLE…(because, YES! Simple was my word for the year! HERE and HERE)

Lastly, I’m including my MOST resurrected post (meaning it is the oldest post that receives regular clicks) largely in part due to Pinterest and all about Recycling and Using what you have on hand.
From 2010…

Pat's blog 005 bottle drawer

It blows my mind and it is gaining in numbers everyday…   Why ??????

Thank you to these blogs and you my readers for being my biggest Traffic Sources this year (in alphabetical order):
Cozy Little House
Funky Junk Interiors
Homestead Revival
My Repurposed Life
New LIFE ON HOMESTEAD

So anyway—regarding ‘random passers-by’ that read my blog  …I have a fun and heart warming story to tell you.  I’ll be sharing that with you soon!

Til next time, Be Blessed!

Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve. ~Colossians 3:23-24

I look at the stats every once in awhile, but I don't know that it's really telling me anything. Actually, I'm not convinced it's even accurate. For example, yesterday's post had a lot of views (for me), but it's not showing up on the all time list, and it should be ranked second. I dunno. Too new? Oh well, I should think about more important things!

I might look at my stats a bit too much. It's fun to see what people are interested in AND it helps inspire me! I like the stats on my fb page too.

I can tell it is deer season because the top viewed posts are deer related!

i check my stats too! Folks that do not live as we do are fascinated by what we do it seems. Like you I comment on the blogs that leave comments for me too. How do you know who is reading if they don't comment? Have a great weekend Pat!

It is weird about Pinterest. People tell me the strangest things get pinned tons of times.

I check my stats periodically and have to laugh about my most viewed post which was about spring flowers. It is the most viewed post because it is the post that gets the most spam comments. That tells me that my stats really don't mean much at all.

I am learning that many friends are reading my blog regularly, but the never leave a comment. I just got an e-mail from my college roommate telling me that she reads my blog regularly. I saw my former tennis partner (she travels so much that we no longer play on a team) and told her my daughter was moving to town. She said, "I know, I read your blog". I had no idea that people I actually know read it.

Happy New Year

hi Pat, I read your blog and sometimes comment but not always. I do like your style!

I'm always amazed that anybody reads my blog! I confess to being a lurker at times...sometimes it seems so inadequate to post something short and sweet instead of a well thought out appreciative comment and sometimes I'm just not feeling witty enough to write anything.

I check who visits my blog too, but try not to get too involved in numbers. I don't have a Pinterest, and most likely won't, but many of my posts get pinned by others.

I went back to read that most resurrected post--who was the first comment from? Moi! lol Happy to know I've been around for so long. :)

Looking forward to your kernels of knowledge in the new year!
