Thanks Gail!

I am still plugging away on barn projects.  I  showed you my shelf unit at the end of last week.  I had 2 other projects to unveil…but wasn’t quite finished with one.

Now on with the DIY portion of today’s post—WIRE BASKETS! How NOT TO MAKE THEM.

  • Don’t use the tape measure to measure the shelf and the bottom of the basket for a proper fit.

  • Don’t wear gloves.

  • Don’t cut the right amount of squares—

in this case, it should say 8 and 7 with the fold tabs being on the 8 side. ;)

  • Don’t label the following 2 pictures—Folding Over and Processing the Mess

  • Don’t fold tabs to the inside of the basket--

  • Don’t worry that 2 sides don’t match the ends.

  • Don’t wait…just cut them off and fold them over.  *See Plan B

  • Don’t sew a new liner.

  • Don’t make excuses!!! a cloth napkin pulled through the holes would have been WAY CUTER had it not clashed with awesome paint color SANS wood filler. :/

Have you made any industrial wire baskets?  C’mon, I know you have… do tell.  Did you find it easier than it looked?  More difficult than you expected?  Did you make your baskets in the peace and quiet with no distractions…or in the middle of all the hub-bub… ?
Or maybe—Like me, no excuses here, you just create as you go along and all your projects end with the final result being  Plan B- ish?

I love those baskets, but I don't have anywhere in my kitchen to put some. I love the shelf they are on too.

I love these and yes, I'm definitely a plan B and sometimes C kinda gal. Getting things to turn out as awesome as they are in my head is one of my biggest frustrations.

I would make them the same way! It's how I make everything, I'm sorry to say. ;) What is that wire called?
