I Just Did It--

Monday a week ago—I took it upon myself to make one change in my day.

Exercise.

This is a picture of the a beautiful Crepe Myrtle tree in my yard—and you can thank me later, that it’s not a picture of me …EXERCISING.

Because, lets face it… that would not make a very pretty picture!

I don’t like doing it—but nobody can do it for me. The people that LOVE me can’t even do it for me; NOT even gentle reminders from them would help instead it would sound like nagging in my little pea-brain.

So I didn’t even ask them to be my accountability partners--

I just did it.

All that said—just so you can know, that

  1. I haven’t JUST been sitting around DOODLING ON INDEX CARDS (here, here and here)
  2. I haven’t been vacationing on some remote island in the Tropics (though we’ve had some Tropical Storms here!
  3. I’m not trying to Lose weight, though that would be a bonus. I’m exercising to improve my health and get the T2 Diabetes under control. (instead of it controlling me)

I got to thinking, you know?  -- If I can doodle on ICAD (index card a day) and make it a habit, and find it relaxing.  I can exercise a little everyday…

So, I just did it. It’s only been a week …and 3 days, but who’s keeping track?  ME!

I’ve made some other changes, I’ll share them later! Smile

‘Til next time, Blessings!

Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep:
So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth; and thy want as an armed man.
~ Proverbs 24:33-34

Bravo. I so need to copy you and exercise. I suspect watering the garden and climbing the stairs up and down to do that watering doesn't really count as exercise. I think I will try for 10 minutes a day. Walking hurts but I can do 10 minutes. I will check back with you in a few days to see how you are doing and tell you if I did 10 minutes of walking a day.

Good deal, enjoy your exercising. Maybe you could listen to a radio show or a book on tape to pass the time while exercising.

You've got me beat. I did not exercise for several days now. But, I have been in the garden, watering animals etc. I do need to get my 2 mile walk back into my day again.

Yay Pat! Good for you. As they say , every journey starts with a single step. I'm trying to walk 30 minutes a day, I have a bad knee, so it's a challenge. If I lose weight, the knee will improve, I think. Also just need to lose weight -period! I will think of you for inspiration! Ann

I used to exercise religiously years ago-- and was a lot happier and healthier then. I can't now due to my ailments. I can't tell you how I miss it-- how depressing it is not to be able to exercise. Be glad you can! Keep it up! You will feel better (and lose weight too).

I am so proud of you! Exercising has always been my downfall. I work around the yard and I'm always moving, but not aerobically, if you know what I mean. Swimming is the only exercise that I have ever found that I love doing and they closed our senior pool a few years ago. So, here's to your better health and to creating a new healthy habit. Good for you, girlfriend!

yay! I sure hope you're sticking with this.

can you tell I'm catching up on my blog reading?

I made a change a month ago... eat less, move more. So far so good. It's been fairly easy this time, so that makes it easier. Does that make sense? sometimes it just clicks with us, and I think this is my time.

wishing you all the best!
